This story was reported on Fox and Friends this morning.
Joshua Sparling just got to Walter Reed last week and received ONE letter from someone writing in a child's printing. Among other things it told him to die. The soldier has the card on the wall of his room. I know FReepers can counter this despicable action with some of our own letters.

Update: Since Joshua will undoubtedly be overwhelmed by America's response, please consider sending (instead of or in addition to Joshua) cards to these find troops:
Excerpt from Brian K. at FNC:
If you have the time, please try and include the others I met along with Col. North and Col. Hunt at Walter Reed:
Capt. James Ollinger
Sgt. Zavian Simspon
Specialist Brian Radke
Specialist Jason Braase
Sgt. David Nevins
Sgt. Jose Ramos
Cpl. Todd Bishop
Sgt. Ryan Donnelly
Sgt. Eva Diane Cochran
Hmmmmm..
I wonder how long it would take to drive down there from Maine..
It's not the travel..
Finding a hotel down there during the Holidays would be impossible, I'll wager!
Ms.B
Just get on a plane like I'm gonna do! It would take forever to drive from Odessa!
They get to use curse words there. It's OH SO SOPHISTICATED!
No, if it were Ted Rall it would have included a child's drawing, which is what his work looks like.
MsB, are you thinkin' what I'm thinking?? I wonder if the Cats could play at Walter Reed?????
I can't Luv..
At least, not right now..
Ms.B
I had previously posted that I would notify my wife's Marine Moms group to ask her to ask them to send him some support. As usual, they were way ahead of me. They picked up on this earlier today and have been getting him cards and other things.
(The Marine Moms have a saying: There is no one tougher or meaner than a United States Marine, except his or her mother. AND, they not only look out for Marines, they're concerned about Soldiers, Airmen and Sailors. As to the latter, they understand that our sons and daughers are cared for by Naval corpsmen and -women. They spend a lot of volunteer time making up condolence books--memorial books--that are delivered to families of our honored dead. They have made up a number of those books for the families of servicemen and women of other branches.
(I'm not bragging. I just wanted you to know they stand by the mission of our men and women over There.)
I have not served. My tagline honors my son and cousin.
Oh Star..
Don't I wish!
