"Many scientists had previously thought that an asteroid hitting the earth or a deep-sea methane release had caused the extinction, which obliterated more than two-thirds of reptile and amphibian families. ",/I> Which goes to show that while 'scientific' theories regarding pre-history may or may not be BS - one should always take them with a grain of salt.

The Bible says it was a flood, and makes more sense because it isn't likely tha things evolved from nothing twice! It was a fluke one in a trillion billion zillion the first time..

"No Safe Ground For Life To Stand On During World's Largest Mass Extinction"
This is not a bad title for a court story on the 44 million unborn killed since 1973.

So you believe in the Biblical account of the flood, but the creation part is not to be taken seriously?

So should scientists quit making advance predictions, since if they are wrong you will accuse them of lying? Or maybe they should make their guesses so vague as to never run the risk of being wrong, even though that makes them scientifically useless?
Or even better, maybe they should just shut up and never think again! That would do wonders for scientific advancement!

I'm not accusing them of lying. Only that they should not be taken seriously.
BTW, The reason we are treated to a never ending cycle of new scientific 'truths' on these things is that academicians are challenged to "publish or perish". Each new wave of Scientists have to come up with some new study or theory in order to have their work recognized.
Otherwise each new study would come to the same conclusion as th last, if this stuff was genuine and verifiable.

According to another thread, it's gonna be cow farts that cause the next extinction!
To: SuzyQue
I knew I shouldnt have gotten up early to wash my car, it seems a world wide mass extinction always happens when I do that.

I don't think there is any question about the great flood. There are too many references to it. But it only took place where history was being recorded.

I'm not accusing them of lying. Only that they should not be taken seriously.I think I understand now. You are advocating skepticism until a prediction pans out. Do you therefore recommend accepting the ones that do end up supported by the evidence?
