I would think that the courage pill of choice would be angel dust or PCP. Or maybe heroin or some morphine based drug that would render you immune to pain.

Or maybe heroin or some morphine based drug that would render you immune to pain.I don't know anything about the affects of these drugs, so forgive me if this is a stupid question, but might heroine or a morphine based drug cause the taker to want to loll around and enjoy the high rather than head into battle?

Imam: "Achmed, we want you to go stand next to soldiers and blow yourself up."
Achmed: "I refuse to do that. I am not crazy."
Imam: "Very well. But will you fight?"
Achmed: "Yes."
Imam: "Great. Take this pill. It will give you courage."
Later...
Achmed: "Whooo -- Hoooo! Get my gun! Get it! Get it! Get it! Soldiers coming! I gotta get 'em! Out in the street! Out in the Street! I'm gonna shoot! Shoot! Shoot!"
Imam: "So, he's not crazy enough to commit suicide, but he is dumb enough to take the suicide pill, eh?"

An old Muslim strategy. The Sheiks would send young unmarried men(those unlikely to have marital prospects because the Sheik had married all the likely young women)to kill his enemies. The young men were called 'hashishim' (assassins) and were stoked up on hash/marijuana/whatever to boost their courage and remove their inhibitions before they went out to kill.

The Somalis did the same thing with khat. Kind of like the "devil grass" in Stephen King's
Dark Tower series.

"Members of Muqtadr el-Sadr's fanatical Mehdi Army who've taken it have been known to stand in front of US armoured vehicles and open fire almost oblivious to the tank's guns. This may make men fearless, but it doesn't sound like it makes them very effective in combat.
>Fearlessness in battle may be important, but it is hardly sufficient to win. Examples abound of great courage resulting only in quicker defeat, from the Zulus at Rorke's Drift to the Japanese banzai charges of WWII.

Hopefully a bunch of overconfident Islamocrazies will form a human wave and get mown down. Works for me.
Also - people who take such pills project different body language, making it easier to spot them. AND you can test people for it up to a day later: useful for policing purposes.

THIS would make a good documentary for Iraqi TV...
Showing that the bombers are "drugged".. and its NOT about Allah its about DRUGS.. that the terrorist leaders MUST DRUG the their TIME BOMBS.. even if not all are drugged the point will be made.. its not COURAGE or comitment its the drugs..

Muslims aren't allowed to drink alcohol but apparently they have no problem with hard drugs. Hmmm, makes sense. \sarcasm

Or maybe heroin or some morphine based drug...It's hard to shoot when you're drooling. Meth (aka ice) or crack or coke will lower the inhibitions while providing a great deal of energy.

might heroine or a morphine based drug cause the taker to want to loll around Janis Joplin commented on this effect. The user may have all kinds of plans and things to do and the energy level to do it, but just sits there immobile until it wears off.

As I said, I have no personal knowledge of any of these drugs, but that was certainly the impression I had from what information is available. Those representations of crack houses, for example, have not shown the users dancing around having a generally good time and ready to go out and take on the world.

I would think Angel Dust/PCP would disrupt them so badly they would not be able to fight coherently, and might turn on their "masters".
