The following is an update from Daily Pundit who has chronicled the UNBELIEVABLE behavior of CNN employees in the wake of the X/Cheney incident. A switch board operator who berated callers to CNN telling them "Bush and Cheney should stop lying" and that "Putting the X over Cheney's face was freedom of speach" has been fired by CNN. This has been confirmed! Visit this link to hear the tape.
I just got off the phone with Laurie Goldberg, Senior Vice President for Public Relations with CNN. Her statement confirms the authenticity of the tape recording and reveals the actions CNN took after learning of the incident:
"A Turner switchboard operator was fired today after we were alerted to a conversation the operator had with a caller in which the operator lost his temper and expressed his personal views -- behavior that was totally inappropriate. His comments did not reflect the views of CNN. We are reaching out to the caller and expressing our deep regret to her and apologizing that she did not get the courtesy entitled to her. "
* Ba-dump Bump!*
If CNN is the default channel for VA hospitals, 24 hours a day, it makes you wonder why libs complain about the tiny hour that Rush gets on the AFN 5 times each week.

The weak link in any plan of this sort is that CNN has been losing market share for quite some time...their own poor quality undermines any chance at influencing a large segment of society.
Yes, but they still hold significant market share,
and a vastly greater international marketshare.
And they are far from alone in wanting to
"bring down" the Bush Admin & the Republicans.
Perhaps figuring the loss of audience share can
be sustainable, until they acheive their ends.
Then, of course, thery can start using positive
manipulation, to makepeople feel good about "getting
rid" of the "evil liars".
"fired and promoted to video editor; yeah right."
He must have been a closet republican. :)
all I can think of as members of the liberal MSM at all fall and take huge blows is Agent Smith from the Matrix "Find them and destroy them".... I hope this thing doesn't get eclipsed by the time FNC's A-Team is back in next week... that's the only way to get this story the little push it needs to get some widespread attention.
"the same left fringe slant probably turns a lot of foreigners against the U.S. "
It is sad that here in Europe I have only the BBC (British Babble Corp.) and CNN (Communist News Network) International.
Many here are so brainwashed that they think the NYT, The Guardian, CNN, and the BBC are the word of God.
The last time I watched CNN International was during Katrina, and I had to keep a barf bag handy.
N-TV in Germany hasn't exactly been a money-maker. I would make a guess that CNN just said they'd rather move on and sold at some kinda loss. German audiences are not exactly up on news networks and I doubt they improved on numbers over the past two years.
Oh, I hope Hannity and Colmes airs it... I would love to hear it. I'll bet it's funny as H.E. double hockey sticks.(as my little one likes to say)
My mom and I were visiting Wa. and whIte-aho in Oct. and we stayed at two different Holiday Inn Express's (sp?) and every day in the lobby they had Fox New on in the morning and every time I walked by.
The switchboard operator did act like a jackass, if this story is true. But I can tell you from experience: people who answer the phones have NOTHING to do with the operation or editorial decisions in the media.
I agree with Rush.
I don't watch any TV at all, so not sure how FN handled this. So shooting in the dark:
Fox should start putting "X"s over everyone's head whenever Cheney is mentioned, or something on that order. They could remain 'fair and balanced', putting an X over Fox anchor mens' heads, etc. Maybe when they discuss 'Cheney X'. People would roll over laughing. Brit Hume's head, Juan Williams' head, etc. And then Hannity could bring it up and show an 'x' over his head, and then the 'x' could appear on Colmes' head. Not the guests, however. Just the Fox News team.
I have an old ACDC album with the album cover having everyone's head blotted out as though they were dangerous suspects, including an elderly lady nearby, and even the head of a dog. It was hilarious!
Good for you!
I AXed a nearby auto shop if they could get FoxNews. I don't trust my car anywhere else, so didn't want to be nasty. And they said, "Sure".
I just hope FoxNews remembers who butters their bread, and it 'aint the left!
Bunch of lying hypocrites.
Its ok for the "newscasters" to express their personal views but not the peon who answers the phone.
His comments did not reflect the views of CNN.
Thats a lie that would make Goebbels blush.
Aaron Brown at the switchboard??
Next stop Reuters or UP.
[[His comments did not reflect the views of CNN]]
Oooohhhhh yes they do! And that's the reason you are tanking. Your job is to REPORT the news, any and all of it, and let the people decide. We have had it will liberal opinion disguised as news.
Ohhhhhhhh, that's a great pic.......
