A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Greetings!

There are many things for me to be giving thanks for this year. It was an interesting year, 2005 was, for me as well as for everyone else.

Yes, there were troubling times, from earthquakes to tsunamis and hurricanes. Also political troubles as well. All set to bring us down to the depths of depression and defeat.

At least it would if we let it!

So this year I decided to say to those demons of depression “Go away!” and ask God to enter and take over. But, first I need to take some time out to thank Him for the blessings overlooked because of the negative stuff that went on.
  1. I thank You, My Lord God, that we were given 4 more years of a decent and good man in the Oval Office.

  2. I thank You, My Lord God, that I was blessed with a year of health and a year more of life.

  3. I thank You, My Lord God, for my family, and for their continued good health and prosperity. For their successful surgeries, and their new jobs as well as new lives with marriages, and parenthood for my nephews and nieces.

  4. I thank You, My Lord God, for a wonderful mother and father.

  5. May You continue to bless and protect all my relatives and friends as well as the USA and President Bush and his family.
Now, those are just a few of my "Thank You's” ; I thought I’d ask you to add some of yours.
May God Bless You All !

~ Pippin

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof over head and a place to sleep... You are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace... You are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness... You are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation... You are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death... You are more blessed than three billion people in the world.

If your parents are still alive and still married... You are very rare, even in the United States.

If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful... You are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.

If you can hold someone’s hand, hug them, or even touch them on the shoulder... You are blessed because you can offer healing touch.

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you, and furthermore... You are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.

Have a good day, count your blessings, and pass this along to remind everyone else how blessed we all are.

If she is around for her 100th we will all be there for it.
She has been hanging in there, although, it is hard for her to walk without aid.
My Brother Bill has been with her for 8 years.

Beautiful thread, Billie. Thank you.

I don't know where to start because there are many things I am thankful for – but I will give it a try.

I'm thankful for our men and women in uniform who make the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
I'm thankful for my wonderful parents whose love and support are endless.
I'm thankful for being an American and enjoy the rights and freedoms our forefathers set forth.
I'm thankful for my good health, sense of humor, and kind heart.
I'm thankful for having an education which allows me to have a good job.
I'm thankful for my relatives, and the friends I met through the years including FR.
I'm thankful for the laughter and happiness I enjoy.
But most of all, I'm thankful for God's constant Love and Protection.

I'll echo the mayor, Victoria. Amen!

Ya know, at this time of the year, some folks often brainstorm to make a list of things for which to be thankful.

However, when one daily thanks God for his many blessings, narrowing down a list becomes the task. I chose the latter.

Your graphic reminds me of our daughters, 3 more blessings.

I love both of your 'thankful, grateful' lists. I feel the same. Watching the Music awards, and enjoying it.

"I am grateful for my Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ
I am grateful for being born an American
I am grateful for my friends and family
I am grateful for my darling doggie companion, Maddie (deadhead has to change Maddie to Lucy :-)
I am grateful that the Lord gave me an appreciation of His creation so a simple walk in the woods is a time of refreshing, wonder & joy
I am grateful to see, walk/run, hear and for good health
I am grateful for a job, food to eat, clothes to wear and a nice home to live in
P.S. I am grateful for good looking, conservative Godly masculine men too!
