ALL SET
Thirty-five minutes and counting...
is this the early post for Monday's show or Tuesday's? ROFLMAO
Checking In!
How did I know he would open with the end of the Ohio/Michigan game?
But, like Kerry, what has Murtha done for us lately? Vietnam was 40 years ago.
BASKETBALL!?!?!?
F'N BASKETBALL!?!?
I still have yet to figure out why WJGR in JAX still puts FL basketball on the radio and cut it's normal talk off!
They will be getting a call from me tomorrow.
The Hill
October 7, 2003
You see the problems theyre having in finding replacements for the troops that are over there, said Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.), the top Democrat on the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee.
We cant sustain a one front war for any length of time., said Murtha, who supports a draft but is not sure the time is ripe for its reintroduction. You can make the deployment but you cant sustain it because we have so many worldwide commitments, so Im for the draft.
Theres 128,000 [troops] over there right now. To sustain 128,000 American troops [you have to] have more National Guard and reserve troops than regular.
He added, I dont think we can afford that. Im talking about the complaints Im getting right now from all reserves and guards about their lives being so disrupted. Im getting major complaints from almost every major unit.
Hugh continues to be on a roll of great radio. I am his harshest critic when he just does BS. But his programs, of late, have been rivetting. I caught him about 3:40 (?) talking about a possible Iran's hardening position on nuclear inspectors -- and the possiblility of this leading to a showdown with Iran. Not stuff of the dinosaur media. He strayed a bit into Israel politics and didn't get back on to that particular thread -- but the Israel politics information was also great, but a bit confusing. Will Netanayu be running against Sharon now? etc? Thank God, nothing about stock cars today.
