At least one Arab television media outlet reported that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the head of the al-Qaida in Iraq, was killed in Iraq on Sunday afternoon when eight terrorists blew themselves up in the in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul.
The unconfirmed report claimed that the explosions occurred after coalition forces surrounded the house in which al-Zarqawi was hiding.
WASHINGTON, Nov 20 (Reuters) - U.S. authorities are looking into whether al Qaeda in Iraq leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was killed in a gunfight in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, a U.S. official said on Sunday, but a White House spokesman said that was "highly unlikely."

There's another thread here about this same story .. but it's a DEBKA filing and I don't have confidence in what they say most of the time.
DEBKA didn't say it was Zarqawi, but just that it was 8 of his leaders.

Nothing in the US media that I know of, except that we thought he might be in the house that was blown up. (thats my understanding of where were at)
Wouldn't suprise me at all if he is sitting comfortably and alive in Syria. On the other hand, if he is among the dead, it's only because the others surrounded the cowardly SOB and prevented him from fleeing as they blew themselves up.
