Ahhhhhhhh yes...the softer side of Sears. Upon my trip to the retail "giant" I walk by and notice the price of the Christmas Trees they were pushing...but oh...what is this? They are not called Christmas Trees...nope.

They are not called Holiday Trees...nope.

They are not called Festive Trees...nope.

They are called......................

WISHING TREES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's another store to add to the Christmas hall of shame.
Sears, I'm wishing for a Christmas-friendly alternative.

The pillsbury figures omitted a few things. There are no females. There are no sexual minorities.
Into the oven with them!

Those who can't muster the courage to call it Christmas, won't get my Christmas dollars.

Spot on, I have emailed all the retailers that will not wish Merry Christmas and have told them the same. If a few million more would do the same they might just get the message.

Well, if I were 99, I wouldn't be too worried about taking down my Christmas Wishing tree either.

On the Sears website they're listed as Christmas trees and decorations, but they do have an ad campaigned called "Wish Big," which features a blue ornament and the words "Wish Big." It was probably just part of their ad campaign.

They have a Christmas shop?

Ahh, nothing like the spiritual validation only a retail chain can provide.

Everyone should go to Sears and stand right in front of that Wishing Trees sign and ask the clerk for a Christmas Tree. When the clerk points out that you are standing right in front of the Christmas Trees, tell them, "No, that is a Wishing Tree, I want a Christmas Tree" smile nicely and say; "Could you please direct me to your Christmas Trees." And if they can't, smile nicely, thank them, and then tell them that you are off to find a store that sells Christmas Trees. : )

I wonder if they stocked the mistletoe under "sexual aids".

Well, Merry Christmas to you and yours! DH's family runs a Tree Farm, so the more "old-fashioned" customers like you that we can continue to hold on to, the better!

We've been forced into selling potted Christmas Trees in the winter and all types of pine and hardwoods in the spring because the cutting of fresh Christmas Trees just ain't what it used to be, now that the EnviroWackos have everyone convinced that a pine tree feels pain and is an 'endangered spiritual entity' and not the renewable resource it truly is. *Rolleyes*

Apparently, not all Sears departments are afraid of the word.

Could the wishing tree wordage be the independent actions of a politically correct employee and not company policy? Does each store unit print up its own signage with its own verbage?

I can't imagine Wishing trees would sell well in hispanic neighborhoods. They understand the real meaning of Navidad.
