Republican lawmakers say that ties between Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) and his brother's lobbying firm, KSA Consulting, may warrant investigation by the House ethics committee...
According to a June 13 article in The Los Angeles Times, the fiscal 2005 defense appropriations bill included more than $20 million in funding for at least 10 companies for whom KSA lobbied. Carmen Scialabba, a longtime Murtha aide, works at KSA as well.
KSA directly lobbied Murtha's office on behalf of seven companies, and a Murtha aide told a defense contractor that it should retain KSA to represent it, according to the LA Times.
In early 2004, Murtha reportedly leaned on U.S. Navy officials to sign a contract to transfer the Hunters Point Shipyard to the city of San Francisco, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. A company called Lennar Inc. had right to the land, and Laurence Pelosi, nephew to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), was an executive with the firm at that time.
Murtha also inserted earmarks in defense bills that steered millions of dollars in federal research funds toward companies owned by children of fellow Pennsylvania Rep. Paul Kanjorski (D).

I think you missed the point.....
......A company called Lennar Inc. had right to the land, and Laurence Pelosi, nephew to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), was an executive with the firm at that time.....
Read that. Murtha was shilling for the sharpcheeked one. Getting Murtha might be a twofer. It's a long way from the backwater Johnstown known mostly from having been destroyed in a flood to San Francisco leftwing paradise.
Let's see....you are under investigation for corruption so you attack the President on the most important issue in the country and then any attempt to investigate you further looks like an effort to shut you up. Nice trick.
That's exactly what I thought when I first heard this. His traitorous rant would insulate him from investigation.
Karma can be a real bitch, ehh Murtha?
I wish folks would not take out after the Vet Murtha, but rather the looney left that has hijacked his party (like Zell said).
Well said.
My timing, as usual, is dreadful. Less than a month ago, I recommended this site to three military vets....one a Nam vet, the other two currently serving in the Army. Both served in Iraq. They now think I recommended an anti military site to them because of the vilification of a soldier they hold up as a hero. It was bad enough what was done to McCain here. They all three said this foolishness will eventually cost us the military vote. I agree. It is ill advised.
"It is time to quit allowing the dems to rule our actions. They will holler and scream no matter what we do. I am sick to death of hearing everyone say - we can't do this because the dems will yell, the dems will counter with this. Of course they will holler - that is what they do. This is war here in our government and we do not cower when the other side does not like our actions."
AMEN BUMP!
There's a lot of us here in the Southeastern part of the state. I live in a Republican county. Most of the Dems live in the cities and large towns, Btw Rick Santorum is from my area, great guy and a Real Conservative. Someone should give Murtha, Jim Jeffords phone number he'll need a friend after this.
FOXTROT niner six, FOXTROT niner six.
We've got incoming from across the aisle.
Button up.
Command post, Out.
..some Delay payback...
Thanks, man.
Kerry was in the military too, you know.
No, I didn't know that. Was he in Vietnam, by any chance?
I don't know! I'll have to check that out and get back to you! Anyone else here know where Kerry served?
:-)
You are right on the $$$:
"The reality is if you disagree with the dems or the media, they will go after you."
Pelosi bump
Pelosi bump
I think the timing is perfect.
What's good for De Lay is good for de Murtha.
FYI
As we talked about this morning, I feel the media shenanigans by Murtha calling for a withdrawal from Iraq was a pre-emptive defensive move to deflect attention to the coming ethics probe.
Now he can say that Republicans are just paying him back for his comments.
Yes .. I think so also
"Daschle went to bed with a Boeing lobbiest every night - his wife."
You don't know that!
