QUEBEC (CP) - Andre Boisclair is the new leader of the Parti Quebecois.
Boisclair has become the head of the Quebec sovereignty movement with a first-ballot victory after a leadership vote by PQ members. Boisclair received 53.7 per cent of first-round choices, while Marois had 30.6 per cent and Richard Legendre 7.5 per cent.
Boisclair will likely have to wait until 2007 before getting a crack at defeating the governing Liberals, although Premier Jean Charest can wait until the spring of 2008 before calling the election.
The PQ leadership race was launched after Bernard Landry quit suddenly in June following lukewarm support at a party convention.
With previous PQ leaders Landry, Lucien Bouchard and Jacques Parizeau all being crowned, Boisclair is the party's first elected leader since 1985.
It used to be that way, but it disappeared in the 1960s and has become by far the most liberal place in North America.
LOL!
BEHOLD...SILLY IMAGES!
Oh, and poking fun at Canada.
"This Cranks standard political menue will be:"
That only works if the secessionists can pre-determine that their referendum will not succeed, but be close enought that the threat is credible in the future.
There is no way to guarantee, or engineer, such a result.
There's a very real possibility that they will win their country the next time, and that that's what most of them intending to accomplish.
The rest of the country would become more decentralized and conservative by default, when it happens.

Hey, tell me about it.
I am a Canadian ex pat.
Once had a Quebecois friend ask me if I supported Quebec Independence.
I said, " You bet, Quebec should have left yesterday".
Never has a modern Western nation of so many been held back politically , economically and socially, by so few.
This dynamic has retarded a country that could be much greater and much more significant than it is today in the world. It never will be until the Frenchies are completely integrated ( absorbed) with more political power going to the Western provinces. The French CAnadians have called the shots for the nation as a whole for far too long.
