Governor Blanco had a three-word response to a stinging designation she's received in a major national news magazine. Questioned by reporters at the capitol today, blanco told them, "Watch my results" and then she walked off.
Time magazine has declared Blanco one of the three worst governors in the nation. The magazine quotes pollster Bernie Pinsonat who describes Blanco as appearing "dazed and confused" after Hurricane Katrina. Time hits blanco for slowness in calling a special legislative session, and slowness in appointing a recovery commission.
At the bottom with Blanco is Ohio governor Bob Taft and Mark Sanford of South Carolina. Who's the best on the Time magazine list? It cites Arkansas's governor Mike Huckabee, whom the magazine describes as "a consensus building conservative."
too bad she wasn't so resourceful when it counted. : )
I believe it was her "results" that got her the "worst governor" designation.
Blanco's likely response:
'Nah nah. I'm rubber. You're glue. Whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you, booger head.'
She's too stupid to figure that out.
We already did, they sucked..
BAAAAMP!!!! Wrong answer! Been there, done that!
Same for my son. He is also on the pump.
She also looks rather stupid. Her eyes are half closed and her lower lip looks rather limp. I found her very unimpressive during the storm. She was more interested in fighting with Nagin who was a disaster himself.
These two really took the cake and if Louisiana is dumb enough to vote either of them back in, then they deserve them. And what an answer!!! Sheesh.
What do you expect--being named Blank-o and all?
The wrong person, in the wrong place, and at the wrong time.
Here's some stinging criticism of Huckabee from inside his state:

And, here he is attending a conference with LULAC and Tyson Foods:

Louisiana Weighs in on Obesity
By Mary Gelpi
Big News Louisiana: We're FAT. We're the second fattest state in the nation behind Mississippi. So it's hardly news, but this problem cannot be ignored any longer. Apathy has been the general attitude in the past, but the lack of concern is dangerous. As much as obesity has been regarded as laziness, in 2003, it was also voted the second most preventable cause of death in America, next to smoking, by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
But one prominent resident, Governor Kathleen Blanco, will no longer stand for apathy. Her passion to make Louisiana fit and healthy was revealed in August with a project titled "Lighten Up Louisiana." According to the project's Web site, www.lightenuplouisiana.org, Blanco said she hopes the project will "encourage Louisianans to develop healthy activities and eating habits."

Mine was $168. BFD.
Yeah, if Time was really to get it right, they would have put Jeb Bush on the top. But no, that wouldn't do, no, not at all!
Maw Maw on Tranks is, I'm sorry to say, very likely to be re-elected. MOST of LA cannot stand N.O., so her treatement of the city gets her POINTS in the rest of the state. And the Edwin Edwards crowd that voted for her( gotta have a Cajun Governor-not some brown-skinned Indian fella) is STILL going to choose her over anyone else.
Watch and see.
I don't think she will get reelected. She didn't win her hometown and parish, Jindal won there. Too many of the democratic base voters are gone. They are going to try to figure out a way to continue the NOLA vote but I don't think it will pass. It is up to US to make sure folks remember how she failed when it mattered most.
It does appear that North Louisiana is taking advantage of the circumstances at the moment and it really looks childish and petulant. It will backfire on them. SWLA is too busy cleaning up from Rita.
I am green with envy that I can't do things like that!
