Maw Maw on Tranks is, I'm sorry to say, very likely to be re-elected. MOST of LA cannot stand N.O., so her treatement of the city gets her POINTS in the rest of the state. And the Edwin Edwards crowd that voted for her( gotta have a Cajun Governor-not some brown-skinned Indian fella) is STILL going to choose her over anyone else.
Watch and see.

I don't think she will get reelected. She didn't win her hometown and parish, Jindal won there. Too many of the democratic base voters are gone. They are going to try to figure out a way to continue the NOLA vote but I don't think it will pass. It is up to US to make sure folks remember how she failed when it mattered most.

It does appear that North Louisiana is taking advantage of the circumstances at the moment and it really looks childish and petulant. It will backfire on them. SWLA is too busy cleaning up from Rita.

MOST of LA cannot stand N.O. ...

That couldn't have anything to do with how xenophobic New Orleans has always been, now, could it? Honestly, MANY, if not MOST. New Orleanians have always acted as though the rest of LA is populated by lesser mortals ... if not downright ignorant, uncouth rubes. That animosity has traditionally been mutual.

North Louisiana could not be more unlike South Louisiana. Neither could be more unlike New Orleans.

The regional differences in Louisiana are enormous and, possibly, insurmountable. This is all very sad at a time when all regions of the State need to pull together.
