Joseph Williams: My son died for a good cause
Email from Move America Forward ^ | November 12, 2005 | by Joseph Williams

Posted on 11/12/2005 5:19:10 PM PST by Jim Robinson

Fellow Americans:

I'm so very proud of my son who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

He knew the mission was important, and he understood that the war in Iraq was central to the war on terrorism.

Sadly, my son (Lance Cpl. Michael Jason Williams) lost his life in combat in this war. My life changed forever when I got a knock at my door, informing me that Michael had been killed in action. My son is my hero.

As a father, I can't tell you what a gut-wrenching blow it was, and still is. Not a day goes by I don't think about my child. But the Anti-American, anti-war crowd that pretends to 'support the military, but not the mission' are a pack of liars.

Some people, like Cindy Sheehan and Michael Moore, have tried to exploit the death of Michael and others who lost their lives in Iraq, in order that they might advance their far left political agenda.

If we don't stand up to the Cindy Sheehans, Michael Moore's and the politicans who are using Michael's death to further their agenda of undermining our Commander-in-Chief, then Michael Jason William's devotion to this great country will be rendered meaningless.

I know from bitter experience.

I am a Vietnam veteran.

I don't know what is so hard for the people in today's anti-war movement to understand. Radical Islamic Extremists are determined to kill Americans and destroy our way of life.

In Iraq the terrorist insurgency is led by a fellow named Zarqawi, his position is the leader of "Al Qaeda in Iraq" yet the anti-war crowd marches through our streets proclaiming that the war in Iraq has nothing to do with the war against terrorism.

Well, I've had enough of the misguided, anti-military and even anti-American rhetoric from the anti-war crowd. They seem to be rooting for our enemies more than our own troops at times.

So I've decided to help fight back.

I've leant my voice and my story - and the story of my son's sacrifice for his nation - to Move America Forward, for them to use in a national radio ad campaign.

You can hear the ad here: http://www.moveamericaforward.org/Link/audio/7452

Right now we're trying to raise enough money to purchase the time on radio stations around the country to make sure this message is heard.

Please, support this effort by making a contribution to help pay for the airtime for this radio commercial. I would be honored to have you help get this message out.

Mega 21 gun salute

Three rifle volleys, no 21-Gun Salute but the sentiment is appreciated.

My son is leaving Wednesday for Iraq. He will help continue the fight for freedom in the world from tyranny and injustice. We might one day stand where this father stands. I pray that we will have the courage he has shown in the face of his son's death.

We salute the military!

I see alot of AMEN's...but how many of you are donating to this cause...Jim...why don't you give a small percentage of what you took in from the last Freeperthon...that way, it would be from all of us....in addition to the individual donations. I'll wait to hear your answer.

Dear Mr. Williams,

I have two Sons in the War. I agree 100% with your assessment. Cindy Sheehan is a proven fraud. And the only way we can lose this war is if we give up and surrender to the Islamic Radicals. Who are murdering other Moslems,Buddhists in Thailand, Christians in Indonesia and anyone else who does not share their dark vision for humanity. I honor your Son's service. His courage is a reflection of his choices and the values imparted to him by you and your wife. I am very sorry for your loss Sir. And the costly sacrifice laid at the altar of freedom by your family.

We should salute this terrific American family.

Joseph served in Viet Nam. Michael served in Iraq and gave his life for the mission to protect America from Islamic terrorism.

Now Joseph is stepping out with great pain to stick up for his son and the other men and women serving our country.

The Williams family are exactly why this is the greatest country, and we owe it to them to stand up for our military and their mission.

Thank you sir for you son. As I look at my own two sons words mean nothing. I hope the county continues to live to deserve him.

I owe you sir. I have two children: a boy 9 and a girl 5. Your son gave his life for them. I can never pay this debt to you. Thank you ( that sounds so shallow, but the English language fails me now.). He gave my children an opportunity to grow up.

As I grow older, and hopefully a little wiser, I look back on my country and my service in Viet Nam. We all lost something then, and there are times when I wonder if we ever got it back. In reading this man's letter, I'm satisfied we got it back, and we are the world's protectors, and we have the finest folks in our Military. I know the love this man had for his son, but he was our son too! We all miss him, and honor him and his ultimate sacrifice. The naysayers, and the no-gooders are just that, full of hate and anger at their own country, and their own sons and daughters in the Military. Forget them as they are destined to the ashes of the future, they will never know of sacrifice, and they are the real losers in life. God bless your son, and may he dwell in the House of our Lord forever, and God bless you too, kind sir, and keep you in our hearts as a reminder of all that is good.

Fun fact from a US marine currently serving in Iraq:

"Captured enemy have apparently marveled at the marksmanship of our guys and how hard they fight. They are apparently told in Jihad school that the Americans rely solely on technology, and can be easily beaten in close quarters combat for their lack of toughness. Let's just say they know better now."

More stuff from our marines in Iraq:

"Morale among our guys is very high. They not only believe they are winning, but that they are winning decisively. They are stunned and dismayed by what they see in the American press, whom they almost universally view as against them. The embedded reporters are despised and distrusted. They are inflicting casualties at a rate of 20-1 and then see s**t like ?Are we losing in Iraq? on TV and the print media"

It is absoutely long overdue to treat these traitors (add Durbin to the list) as what they are. The Senate has been negligent in upholding their sworn oath of office,

" I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God."
