Any way you cut it, 73 flopping is very bad.
I think Arnold has no chance next year, hence tomorrow if I were him, I'd hold a press conference.
I'd say " The People of Kalifonia have spoke" Across the board tax increases will begin immediately.
73 Minor's Pregnancy 5,143 68.1 2,415 31.9 74 N Teacher Tenure 3,271 42.6 4,397 57.4 75 N Public Union Dues 3,583 46.7 4,082 53.3
You can see the huge variation from state patterns.
With better explanations of these measures, and outing the unions for the balled faced liars they were on point, I think these would have done even better.
If Schwarzenegger does come back, I'll bet you it will be all out war, and he'll mop the floor with them.
The media likes to think Schwarzenegger has been neutered. This guy is a phenom when his heart and soul is in it. I wouldn't count him out.
This state needs a champion. He's not my first choice by any means, but if he can turn things around via measures like these, he'll have done a fine thing.
Your logic about the deteriation in 2006 makes a lot of sense. It will be interesting to watch.
That was exactly my impression. All I could hear was commercials bashing him and nothing explaining why to vote "yes."
OK thanks.
The cannibals will reap what they've sowed. The purist have have bit off their hands to spite themselves.
The man's a fighter.
I wish all our people had guts like he has. He put it on the line to fight for these things.
Thank you.
The Guv on KFI...
There's NO probably about it. Imperial County is definitely Latino.
OK the Governator is now speaking live on Fox News.
The Gub is up to the mike.
It is wrong for a 40-year-old man to put his finger into the private area of a 12-year-old girl, so it should be wrong for him to put a suction hose up her privates without parental notification as well.
At this point, I would say that all initiatives go down. LA hasn't reported nor have any significant number of precincts in Alameda county reported. They will go heavily anti-75. The only hope is that Orange County is only partly in. Don't think that will be enough.
The continuing downward slide of a once great state continues. Getting rid of Gray Davis has turned out to be the poison pill for Republicans I predicted. California is ungovernable. Nothing about that will change for a generation. Our job now is to prevent the cancer from spreading.
He's on Fox now --- pure CLASS.
The easy thing for Arnold to do, after winning, would have been to sit back - let the Democrats basically govern the state - and give interviews about the "extremism" of the "ultra-right wing" of the Republican Party.
He'd have a 60% approval rating in California and would be a media darling.
But he, despite what some here said at the time, stood and fought with us. We owe him.
"I started voting against education bond issues about 15 years ago, when I decided I would give the schools more money only when they improved their performance. I'll be voting NO for a long time to come."
Ditto to that!
From the S.F. Dept. of Elections website:
REGISTERED VOTERS - TOTAL . . . . . 428,481
BALLOTS CAST - TOTAL. . . . . . . 164,783
VOTER TURNOUT - TOTAL . . . . . . 38.46%
But otherwise you're right, no shortage of GIRLY-MEN!!
The c'Rats will fight each other as viciously as they have fought these props. load up on popcorn... and beer. ;-)
