"THANK YOU AMERICA"I have the very good fortune to be working for a PR company hired by the Iraqi Kurds to help promote a media campaign that begins on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 here in the United States. Tomorrow is the launch of a TV ad campaign where the Iraqi Kurds say "Thank You" to America for liberating them from the oppressive regime of Saddam Hussein. Please watch the ads and post your thoughts.
"Thank You America" is the first of 3 ads that will run in the United States (beginning on Fox News Channel) and then thanking British and American troops in Europe and the Middle East.

"Did the Networks and/or CNN turn down the ad?" So far CNN in this country and BBC in Europe and CNN International have not allowed this ad to air. We're still trying, but we've gotten a brick wall so far. They think the ad is inappropriate for broadcast. Can you believe that?
To: Impeach98
After viewing all 3 ads, I'm wondering if you approached CNN or the Networks here or even Affiliates, with the first ad and not the other 2, if you might not have better luck. The first ad is really more a public service type announcement. The other 2 are more commercial ads for investing. Would the Kurds agree to go with just the "Thank you" ad. They'd still make tons of good will.
And refusing to run that first ad really would be a story in itself that ought to be revealed to the public. "CNN refuses to allow Kurds to publicly thank America"

It was the first ad ("Thank You America" and "Thank You Great Britain") that CNN Headline News, CNN International and BBC have all thus far rejected. :(
To: Impeach98
That's outrageous! I think someone needs to make the public aware of it. How dare they !!

Americans need and deserve to see this ad. Please go to the networks and the local affiliates. I'm sure you'll find local affiliates all over the country who'd show it.

I'm sorry if someone already asked you this question, but will these ads be running elsewhere besides Fox News Channel? I've been enjoying them on FNC, but sure hope they also run on CNNMSNBCCNBCCBSNBCABC...

I wept when I saw the ad. Prompted me to ask why Saddam wanted to bury this beautiful race of people. Reminded me of Hitler trying to wipe out Jews. Turns out the Kurds are Muslim, but genetically related to the Hebrew tribe of Judah.
