"Multiculturalism means that the worst attributes of Muslim culture - the subjugation of women - combine with the worst attributes of Western culture - licence and self-gratification. Tattooed, pierced Pakistani skinhead gangs swaggering down the streets of northern England areas are as much a product of multiculturalism as the turban-wearing Sikh Mountie in the vice-regal escort." Islamofascism itself is what it says: a fusion of Islamic identity with old-school European totalitarianism. But, whether in turbans or gangsta threads, just as Communism was in its day, so Islam is today's ideology of choice for the world's disaffected.
Perfect aim, perfect bulls-eye. Brilliant as always, Mr. Steyn.

I seem to have heard some group (???) calling this a Ramadan Offensive or some such. I just saw Lawrence Eagleburger on FOX saying if, if, if that turns out to be the case, then if, if, if there are any leaders left in France etal, then it's time to send Moslems whence they came.
I submit that to be the same in Canada, Australia, the United States or anywhere Moslems choose to immigrate but refuse to assimilate.

You're right, people shouldn't get to export themselves and bring their screwed up gummint ideas with `em to escape the results of their screwed up gummint ideas.
So when do Floridians get to send the Cubans and damnYankees back?

In Normandy, it's not just the cheese that's soft and runny. Love it!! I must use that myself sometime.

What's going to happen to the French tourist industry?
Some serious belt tightening is coming their way, which
these French unions find extremely distasteful.
Without hesitation they go on strike.
Imagine, Muslim terror at night, union uprisings by day.
Vive la France.

Hey, don't knock the Cubans. They are the only people who vote Republican in South Florida. If it weren't for the Cubanos, Gore would have won in 2000.
As for the damnYankees, most Floridians are either damnYankees or the children of damnYankees. The Sunshine State would just be orange groves and cattle ranches if the Crackers still ran things! ;-)

"no one listens to the youth these days..and we have to find any way we can to be heard" I never understand this mentality. What makes them think we weren't paying attention to them? We listened - we just dismissed what they had to say, that's all.
Listening doesn't mean we accept their point of view.

"unless you're planning on croaking imminently, you will live to see it." Oh I sure hope so. It will be amusing to see the shock of horror written on the faces of those liberals who just can't understand why they are being persecuted, after all, they helped!

I don't know where I got the idea he was released from the Bastille. Probably some fictionalized version.
Here's what a capsule biography says:
On July 2 1789, he reportedly shouted out of his cell to the crowd outside, "They are killing the prisoners here!", causing somewhat of a riot. Two days later, he was transferred to the insane asylum at Charenton-Saint-Maurice (now Saint-Maurice, Val-de-Marne) near Paris. (The storming of the Bastille, marking the beginning of the French Revolution, happened on July 14.) He was released from Charenton in 1790 and his wife obtained a divorce soon after.

They screw up their country and we should let them come here so they can start all over again. Boy you got that right. I will be crazy opposed if "French refugees" start coming over here.
