PARIS -- Police officers, exhausted and dispirited after 11 nights of street battles, say their mainly young African and Arab adversaries have access to sophisticated weapons including grenades and could soon begin using them. A dozen officers were injured, two of them seriously, after being shot with hunting rifles fitted with lead pellets during rioting last night in the suburb of Grigny, south of Paris, police said. Jean-Christophe Carne, president of a police trade union, told The Washington Times before last night's outbreak that police officers were increasingly pessimistic that civic order would be restored anytime soon. "Most of these kids are being coached by professional petty criminals and gang leaders in the suburbs," said Mr. Carne, president of Action Police CFTC. "In the past, when we have cracked down on these criminals in their homes, we found drugs, grenades and heavy weapons such as guns. While they haven't started using these arms yet, there's also no reason to think they wouldn't."

Maybe some of the Iraqis we've trained could help the French.
The "festival" of Eid is a ten day observance at the end of Ramadan commemorating the slaughter of the infidels of the Earth before the Judgment day. I suspect this is just a Ramadan party and has nothing to do with the two kids that executed themselves climbing on a power transformer.
I thought they were well behind the UK in gun confiscation...
Hello my freeper friend,
this is the weather map for France for tomorrow...it will be HOT.

Kristopher.
Looks like record high temperatures in France tomorrow.
Hello,
Actually the 12th of November the Muslims are supposed to go to the Champs Elysees for a riot, according to some Islamic websites.
They are asking the Muslims to gather and it seems many are replying to the call.
If that does happen...it will be HOT.
Kristopher.
Is there some significance to that location? I know nothing of French geography or hisorical sites.
hello.
here is alink to thechamps elysees.it is also in English.
it is the most beautiful avenue in Paris.

Whoever wrote this doesn't know shinola from a shotgun. "
Oh yes they do.
The same media that was all over the staged riots against Bush in South America but waited at least a week to even mention the French riots knows EXACTLY what a shotgun is.
Why do you think they bend so far backwards that their heads end up uncomfortably inserted where visibility dwindles to zero, with such illiterate phrases as "hunting rifles fitted with lead pellets", just to avoid using the incendiary term "shotgun"?
Just part of the game, my friend.
The same game that killed any desire, worldwide, to live in or visit New Orleans Louisiana.
The Liberals want to play, they just don't quite have the steam to pull it off.
Ignoring the French riots only prolongs the period before we have to go in and bail them out, yet again.
If the media continues in the ...head up....position for too long, there will be nothing left to save.
The Left will then be out perhaps the primary socialist ally left on the planet, and an awful lot of hot tub wine parties to boot.
Nodding my head, working my way through an intelligent post, and then I get to the poster's name.
Don't you get tired of being right all the time?
Key question....this all evolves to.....where?
This is WAR, not merely "riots"!
I can tell you one place where the mosque won't follow the first riot or fire by more than one hour.
Bump!
Good one.
Tell me more about Eid.
So this might be akin to rioting on Pennasylvania Ave. in DC?
Well, thank you. I actually hope I'm not right all the time cause I don't like where some of my speculations take me.
I don't know where this is leading. I need to give that some thought. I the meantime, while I'm not a survivalist, I am giving some serious thought to making sure we have what we need as far as food, clothes, and a stock of medicine.
Maybe this is a trial to see what they can get away with and they figured that France was the safest place to start. Least likely to suffer any repercussions of any consequence, unlike Australia. (Who are rapidly becoming my heroes.)
There has been some speculation that this was just a distraction and hearing about the terror plot that was thwarted in Australia today, I wonder....
I'm thinking as I go here... So does the rioting in France continue? What happens if the muslims are successful in making the French back down? Do they then turn France into a muslim stronghold that will give them easy access to the rest of Europe? If they could make France a safe haven for terrorists, they could load up the country and launch out from there. Maybe try to pick off Europe one country at a time. It would take some time but one thing the muslims have proved is that they are patient when it comes to implimenting their plans.
I'm grateful for the two oceans that border this country.
French snipers on the arch, rioters on the pavement.
Written with the authoritative voice and encyclopedic knowledge of a 'journalist'.
Actually, I think the journalist meant to say that they loaded their rifles with chain shot (or perhaps grape and canister shot?)
