ANYONE who supposes that evolution doesn't happen, or doesn't matter, should spare a thought for H5N1, the virus causing avian flu. If we're unlucky, this virus will give us a nasty demonstration of evolution in action...At the moment, the virus cannot pass easily from one person to another. But there are a couple of ways it could evolve to do so.
The virus might infect someone already sick with a strain of human flu, and the two viruses could have sex, thus creating a new virus that contains some genes from each. Such viral hanky-panky is thought to have led to the flu pandemics of 1957 and 1968. Or the virus could mutate - acquire accidental changes to its genetic material - in such a way that it becomes able to travel between people. Mutations to an avian flu virus are thought to lie behind the 1918 pandemic...

Darn horny slut virus bastard children.
Can't get the article. "Redirection limit exceeded..."
Yawn.
A virus remains a virus.
BFD
Another anti-God kook trying to convince everyone to share his irrational faith.
When that virus becomes some other species, let us know.
And so, because a virus might mutate, we can obviously see how a single-cell water-dwelling organism can mutate into a human being.....
Not concerned I just will take my Colloidal Silver.
Now to clean coffee from my monitor!
ROTFLMAO!!!
So you are admitting that mutation and natural selection can lead to a new adaptation that can have selective advantage?
Just look at the source, the tired, boring ole rag the New York Times.
LOL. They are so hard up that even WE got a free copy of the Sunday Times here in California.
What is lost on die-hard eveolutionists, is the fact that it takes just as much faith to believe in "single celled organisms mutating into a human", as it does to believe in "creation".
Mutation is observable, however eveolution is only an unproven theory. This fact drives evolutionists crazy when you mention it.
If we can teach one theory in our schools, we should be able to teach another.
I also find it humorous that the NYTs is so hard up for subscriptions that they are trying to peddle their tripe on the west coast.
IT HAS TO.
It produced Arnold Schwarzenegger.
and grasshoppers could build airplanes.
ML/NJ
It warms, Ah say, it warms the cockels of mah heart. (Foghorn Leghorn) Lol.
It's a waste of time and money for them.
Those leftists who WOULD pay for the rag already have. The rest of us who WOULDN'T pay for the rag already chuck it -- only because we don't have birdcages or puppies in training.
Exactly. A viris is a viris - microevolution.
Call me when a bug turns into a horse - or even a more extreme case, when a Democratic leader into an honest person.

Oh my gaaawwwwd, "British Science" strikes another blow for research.
NOT.
An EEEEEvolutionary scientist. Harhar.
Yes, I say yes, I do agree...
For years my folks bought the LA Times. I couldn't believe they would support such a destructive organization.
The Times people call me every few months to see if I want the paper. Usually such calls annoy me. With the Times I enjoy the calls. I keep the caller on the line while I read them the riot act over the subversive anti-U.S. communist propaganda it spews on the public.
The last time they called the person on the other end of the line tried to present a list of conservative voices the Times had hired over the last couple of years. I told him the Times had tried to destroy everything I supported about this nation for the last thirty years. I wouldn't be interested until they had a proven track record of a decade or more, supporting wholesome values.
It's obvious they hear the same thing over and over. They are prepared to react to such complaints. I guess propaganda can only be so effective. LOL
