If someone doesn't believe humans descended from ape-like creatures, they can't manufacture a vaccine against the bird flu? And who is trying to strip evolution from textbooks? Sounds like our poor biologist is afraid of any competition against TOE.

What is lost on die-hard eveolutionists, is the fact that it takes just as much faith to believe in "single celled organisms mutating into a human", as it does to believe in "creation".

Mutation is observable, however eveolution is only an unproven theory. This fact drives evolutionists crazy when you mention it.

If we can teach one theory in our schools, we should be able to teach another.

Such a person might be able to manufacture a vaccine, but I wouldn't take his word that it had been honestly and competently tested.
