LE BLANC-MESNIL, France, Nov. 5 -- Mohammed Rezzoug, caretaker of the municipal gymnasium and soccer field, knows far more about the youths hurling firebombs and torching cars on the streets of this Paris suburb than do the police officers and French intelligence agents struggling to nail the culprits.
He can identify most of the perpetrators. So can almost everyone else in the neighborhoods that have been attacked.
"They're my kids," said Rezzoug, a garrulous 45-year-old with thinning black hair and skin the color of a walnut.
While French politicians say the violence now circling and even entering the capital of France and spreading to towns across the country is the work of organized criminal gangs, the residents of Le Blanc-Mesnil know better. Many of the rioters grew up playing soccer on Rezzoug's field. They are the children of baggage handlers at nearby Charles de Gaulle International Airport and cleaners at the local schools.
"It's not a political revolution or a Muslim revolution," said Rezzoug. "There's a lot of rage. Through this burning, they're saying, 'I exist, I'm here.' "
Such a dramatic demand for recognition underscores the chasm between the fastest growing segment of France's population and the staid political hierarchy that has been inept at responding to societal shifts. The youths rampaging through France's poorest neighborhoods are the French-born children of African and Arab immigrants, the most neglected of the country's citizens. A large percentage are members of the Muslim community that accounts for about 10 percent of France's 60 million people.
One of Rezzoug's "kids" -- the countless youths who use the sports facilities he oversees...from Ivory Coast. At 3 p.m. on Saturday, he'd just awakened and ventured back onto the streets after a night of setting cars ablaze.
"We want to change the government," he said,

You know, the reason you don't hear about youth's "social unrest" in places like Algeria, Morroco, Ivory Coast etc. is because the police in those countries beat "youths" to a pulp for commiting the slightest crime. Heck, the parents of those "recognition seekers" know full well what would happen if their kids pulled those stunts at home, in my opinion the elders just don't care, it's not their problem, it's the laws of France, not chez nous, full stop.
Deport the little bastards. Hire huge mothballed ships. Herd them aboard and tow them out to sea with tugboats. If they behave tow the ship to an Arab shore.
Molly Moore... with her fatheaded dull stare of a complete brainless idiot and the fake smile of a sourpuss.
For a bunch of poor chilluns they seem to have enough money for hashish and alcohol.
That certainly wouldn't surprise me. I firmly believe that if riots like this started in US cities and the police were as ineffective as the French are, US citizens would not have tolerated it so long. They would take matters into their own hands and protect themselves. The danger is too great that it would spill into other areas. People can cry vigilanteism all they want but but there's be no argument from me. I just had to laugh at the photo I saw of the French response to the riots; French residents are having a silent march to protest the pioting. Right, that'll do a lot of good.
Sounds like she was about to aquaint Kaneri with the American term "Lewinski."
US "cities" are sitting ducks. Outside those cities though...
"I certainly can recognize terrorists."
The more I read and hear of all this, the more I think the Imams are urging these little thugs on.
They want autonomy, nothing less. They want to establish their own little muslim state within the borders of Europe. Why this isn`t being debated or even mentioned in the media is unbelievable.
This is an insurgency, not a little cry for attention.
The muslim youths are the warriors for the islamic culture. They are being used like they are used everywhere else in the world.
Europe will see, this is no cry for help from these poor ignored youth of their society. This is just the first battle in a war that will continue to grow.
I live in a small town in the country, not far from a small city and I agree completely. My kids high school has the day BEFORE Thanksgiving off. I never heard of it before in any other school district. It just so happens it's opening day of hunting season. (deer, that is)
BTW, Southern cities don't count. All the residents of the outlying areas would pack a friggin lunch, and get there early.
Wait a minute...
France has has massive unemployment for decades. They have mandatory 35 hour work week maximums. You can't even work at your own business more thatn 35 hours, because they want to force you to hire someone, anyone. And if you do, you can't lay them off even if you don't need them any more.
France has never been in a position to import people for labor reasons in the last 40 years.
It might be some colonial reason, (this is why Britian is awash in third world trash).
Rubbish.

If you are not informed about this stuff, you will be made sick. If you are informed, you will be made mad, all over again.
Kindly note tagline...
And along the way they'll be blaming us.
^^
Well, of course. It's Bush's fault, and the Jews made them do it.
...smell some organizational help coming from Syria and/or Iran.
^^
Not to mention American leftist groups like Code Pink and Move-On.org.
And a brain the size of same.
If the French police start using jacketed hollowpoints instead of rubber bullets the riots will be over in one evening.
These Muslims may be fools, but they are not stupid.
