Schiavo Gives Kiss Of Death To Virginia Democrat
North Country Gazette ^ | November 4, 2005

Michael Schiavo is making political endorsements?

Does he have some kind of Napoleon complex or narcissistic disorder or is it political retribution to Republicans for their support of his wife's right-to-life and a fair chance in the court system?

Other than Jodi Centonze, and even her opinion is questionable, who cares who Michael Schiavo endorses for anything?

Why does this individual who campaigned long and hard to kill his wife by judicial decree think that Virginia voters will care who he thinks is the best candidate for Governor and will vote according to his endorsement?

What ties does Michael Schiavo of Clearwater, Florida, formerly of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, have to Virginia? Why has he got his nose stuck in Virginia politics?

In a statement distributed earlier this week by the November Group, a Democratic political consulting firm in Miami, Schiavo endorsed Democrat Tim Kaine for Virginia Governor. The campaign between Kaine and Republican Jerry Kilgore is neck and neck. According to the firm spokesman, Schiavo issued the statement because "he is interested in getting more involved in the political process".

And while Kaine has the "kiss of death" from Schiavo, President George W. Bush is expected to hold an election-eve rally for Kilgore Monday night at the Richmond airport.

Quite a comparison. The President is endorsing Kilgore. Wife-killer Schiavo is endorsing Kaine. Who would you vote for if you could vote in Virginia on the basis of who is endorsing who.

Schiavo relentlessly pandered to the Florida court system and ultimately the federal courts for an order to end his wife's life by withdrawing her feeding tube. Pinellas County probate court judge George W. Greer not only issued the judicial order to remove the feeding tube but forbid any attempt to feed her orally, refused to allow any swallowing tests and refused to allow any new medical testing. He even defied Congressional subpoenas and stopped Florida's DCF, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, U.S. Marshals and the Governor from performing their constitutionally granted duties.

Terri Schindler-Schiavo died on March 31 at age 41, after an agonizing 13 days without food and water.

Schiavo angrily denounced the Republicans, especially President Bush and his brother, Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, for attempting to save Terri's life. Only five Republicans in the House voted against reinserting the tube while attorneys for her parents sought a de novo review of the case in the federal court.

But while Schiavo and others tried to politicize the issue and claimed that Congress and the White House were invading the privacy rights of families and personal lives, Rep. Eric I. Cantor (R-Virginia) the chief deputy whip, put the whole issue into its proper perspective.

"It was not a partisan issue. It was one of conscience", Cantor said. "People will remember that the majority attempted to address a very difficult situation and did it with a real seriousness of purpose".

Is that why Schiavo has interjected himself into Virginia politics? To try and get even with The Virginian---Cantor?

Most Republicans knew little about the specifics of the Florida case whose reverberations were heard worldwide. They only wanted to err on the side of life, to give Terri Schiavo a chance, to be fair. Only in the polls did it become an issue of violation of the separation of powers or a government intrusion into a family matter-because the mainstream media made it an issue.

Conscience? Did Michael Schiavo have any conscience in the intentional killing of his wife?

In his endorsement, Schiavo said that it had "seen firsthand what can happen when a governor disagrees with a single citizen. In Florida, Gov. Jeb Bush abused the power of his office in an attempt to replace my personal family decisions with his own opinions and political grandstanding".

It was Schiavo's decision that Terri die the horrendous death that she did----it wasn't her choice as Schiavo claims. The decision was made solely on Schiavo's self-serving hearsay testimony, a sudden recollection that he had of a supposed comment made 15 years previous, a comment he only "remembered" after the guardian ad litem had issued his report saying that there was no proof that Terri had expressed her wishes and that Schiavo had a major conflict of interest.

The courtroom of Pinellas County Circuit Court Judge George W. Greer is where the most politics were played and then in the pages of the mainstream media who covered up and distorted the real truth in the Schiavo case.

Schiavo has made his "informed decision" based on a televised debate Oct. 9 between Kaine and Kilgore and their responses to the question if governors should intervene in disputes within families over discontinuing life support for a loved one. There was no indication that Schiavo personally watched the debate and the Kaine's campaign manager says Schiavo has never spoken with Kaine.

Kilgore reportedly stated that he is "not going to agree to the forced starvation of any individual if that individual hasn't had a say". He said that he would urge people who don't wish to be kept alive artificially to write their instructions in medical directives.

Terri Schiavo was denied a say in her life decision as Greer consistently refused to appoint an attorney to represent her as required by Florida statutes and the U.S. Constitution. Greer never even personally visited Terri or allowed her into the courtroom. He never saw her. He had no personal knowledge of her condition because he made to effort to know. Terri Schiavo's feeding tube was removed and she was executed as she valiantly struggled to proclaim that "IIIII wanaaaa" to live.

The response of Schiavo's hero, Kaine was that "I don't think governors should use their PR grandstanding to intervene in these cases". He says such disputed should be settled in the "privacy and dignity of juvenile and family courts". He wants to hide the process from public view, advocating secret decisions, secret courtroom proceedings. No wonder Schiavo endorses him.

Kaine, 47, is a Roman Catholic who says that he opposes abortion but that abortion is the law of the land. Kilgore, 44, says Kaine is a big-tax liberal.

In his statement, Schiavo said that Kilgore "is wrong to follow the example of a governor who did not respect me, my family or the rule of law, and I fear what may happen to unsuspecting Virginians when Mr. Kilgore disagrees with their deeply private family decisions".

So, Michael Schiavo, you couldn't kill your wife in private. Why would Gov. Bush ever want to respect a murderer? Rule of law? You and George Greer have the audacity to proclaim that you killed Terri Schiavo by the rule of law on hearsay evidence when you as an adulterer violated the guardianship statutes repetitively with the consort of Judge Greer?

According to Kaine's campaign manager, Kaine has never met or talked with Michael Schiavo. Now that's a real informed endorsement he's made. It speaks volumes in support of Kilgore. 11-04-05

Makes you want to vote for Kilgore, eh?
Hey, if Streisand can become a foreign policy expert, then Schiavo can be a political guru. It's a free country. Take it for laugh value.

I hope Michael Schiavo endorses Hillary. I hope the Republicans use him on a TV commercial endorsing her - up front and in person. Wouldn't that be a hoot! After he's done endorsing her, then have something like, this is paid for by the Republicans for whoever is the Republican front runner. That would highlight a strong contrast.

Poor Tim Caine. Let's get out our deception detecto meter. But get the earplugs on first.

What a campaign! I've never seen two candidates trying to both sound more conservative! At least in the Southside radio ads. What a fight!

What if a creepo who pardoned a crack dealer for cash endorses Kaine? Oh that would help him. That's our nation's first 'Black President'. I wonder, if I helped out crack dealers for money, would the NAACP like me too? Then I could endorse Tim Kaine and actually help him?

It can't be a kiss of death if no one knows about it. Not many have heard about this.

Saint John Paul the Great died, IMHO, of a broken heart over Michael Schaivo's alliance with the baby killing courts.

Schiavo issued the statement because "he is interested in getting more involved in the political process".

Sounds like he's going to use Terry Schiavo's tragedy as a stepping stone to politics.

"Wife-killer Schiavo is ..."
"George W. Greer not only issued the judicial order to remove the feeding tube but forbid any attempt to feed her orally ..."

Well, now I'm confused. Who's the killer and why hasn't he been arrested?

Unless, of course, there is no "murderer" and this is nothing more than regurgitated and overblown hype?

"The decision was made solely on Schiavo's self-serving hearsay testimony ..."

WHAT???? This is a flat-out lie!

Two other people also testified as to what Terri told them, and the judge found it to be clear and convincing evidence as to Terri's wishes.

How do people get away with writing this garbage?

I'll be honest. I fail to see how other than a disagrement with the parents, the Schiavo case was any different from the tens of thousands of other cases a year in which a family in the US decides to take a patient who will never recover off of life support to let them go back to god. A lot of those cases involve people who are still of sound mind. Clearly Schiavo didn't fall in that category. It certaintly didn't deserve an emergency session of congress or around the clock media coverage. I tend to fall the way Neil Boortz feel on this case. That said I think this is a good thing for Kilgore. Schiavo won't bring a single vote to Tim Kaine, and might drive away some fencesitters.

Here in New Jersey, Corzine has a radio ad featuring Mr. Clinton. He also has a TV ad featuring Forrester and President Bush.
