I get the impression that this is again putting the fruit before the tree. They are saying that because younger siblings of fertile women are more likely to be homosexual, there must be a gene that produced it. That is swish-ful thinking. If RangerM's study is legit, it seems far more likely that the 'greater chance of old dads having homo offspring' is kicking in, which is also a study that puts forth the genetic argument where it could find easily a behavioral reason--and the same reason at that.

I put forth the idea that, if Daddy is ninety, Mommy will be raising the kid almost exclusively. In these studies, Mom is more likely present through the formative years of these kids than Dad is. That would seemingly make a mama's boy more likely--though I've seen no scientific studies that relate a strong mother-son relationship to homosexuality. One could infer from societal stereotypes that such a sexuality is likely to evolve from that relationship, however.

I don't know how to explain lesbians...yet, but I think gays are more in touch with their feminine side which, ironically, makes them more attractive to women because they're gentler. Maybe that's what lesbians are looking for, too???

Probably intended -- I'll guess here -- to write, "MOST people who get [AIDS] to so voluntarily," given that the majority of people who get [AIDS] is and continues to be male homosexuals, as to rate of transmission.

Preventing it is a known process: don't engage in behaviors that allow transmission of the virus that causes AIDS, which is widely available information, even on a public education level. Since the highest rate of transmission is among people who are (almost always) aware of how to prevent the transmission but acquire it anyway, they can be defined as, therefore, "the majority of people who get [AIDS] (who) do so voluntarily."

Yes really. There used to be a time when one could get it via transfusion in a hospital via tainted blood. But since we screen test blood for transfusion these days we haven't had such a case in years. There is the rare case where a child may have inherited it from the mother during childbirth. We are finding tha transfusionsat birth and other measures has cut that down as well.

The reality is that almost everyone who gets AIDS these days, does so because of some activity they voluntarily engage in.

And no, you don't get it by sitting on a toilet seat in a public lavatory.
