Text of letter to Bill Nelson:

I am fully expecting Senator Nelson to make a statement this week asking Senator Reid to put aside his temper tantrum for the time being and help get a budget passed.

Specifically, Guardsmen and Reservists are waiting to find out if their Senators and Representatives care enough about their service to provide assistance with health care.

I am self employed and find it very difficult to keep up with the crushing cost of health care and at the same time devote time to the Navy Reserves at the expense of my civilian employment.

I find it particularly insulting that Senator Reid invoked the familiar canard of "for the troops" when he held up Senate business that would clearly benefit them.

The point has been made and has been well covered in the press...NOW GET BACK TO WORK, sir.

Harry Reid should be censured by the Senate for this bad faith stunt.

To quote the worst line in all six movies, when Annakin is told he killed Padme: "Nooooooooooooo!".

I thought I was watching a spoof for a split second.

IMHO The Zahn books should have been put on film...

HE should then Call on the Preisident to direct the AG, to direct FITZGERALD to empanel a NEW GRAND JURY to investigate Possible Hatch Act Violations that may have occurred in conjunction with Joe Wilsons trip.

The dems may see something like this coming - thus this strike today.
I always ask my democrat mother what she thinks on things like this and she said today's actions by her party were disgusting and wasteful. She is not "the base" they are playing to. She is just a democrat who votes straight ticket and contributes $ on a regular basis. There are millions like her and I would bet most of them feel just the way she does about this circus today.

Nope, I rarely watch O'Really. Easier on my BP that way, but good for Tony for not letting him get away with lying!

The ad should say, "...and don't bother calling your senators if they're Dems, since they don't listen anyway...just vote Republican, and get a team that fights for America, acts like adults, gets things accomplished, and cares about you!"

I'm even better at night, when Scotch Whisky raises my IQ a few points more.

Ain't that the truth. Bonus points for spelling whisky correctly. I'm enjoying a wee dram of Scapa 14-year-old Orkney Islands single malt, and feeling quite the intellectual rush. I can hardly wait to re-read this post tomorrow morning, and spot teh typso.

I'm sipping some 12yr Laphroaig right this minute with a splash of water, because I'm delicate, you know? It makes sexy like all get out. I know the neighbor's wife is thinking of me right this minute......

Different beverage, but sometimes I wake up having dreamt about Orkney Ale, that I once had on a trip to Kinloss.

No CO2, manual pump out of an actual wooden keg...glorious beer.

Oh yeah and to stay on topic, Harry Reid is a jackass.

That's it.

I've had enough of this BS.

It's time to gut the Senate rules and start over.

Screw tradition.

The Dumbocrats don't care, and the Pubbies fight fair.

End it! Don't Mend it!

I hope Frist has learned his lesson, but I doubt it.

LOL. There's nothing delicate about Laphroaig, as I'm sure you know, water or not. Peat and smoke, or maybe smoked peat. Wish I had some now.

The Scapa, purchased just because I'd never had it, is smooth to a fault, a bit too sweet for my taste, and could use more interest. But live and learn, and enjoy the research.

Yeah, something about Laphroaig makes me wish I had a smoking jacket or something else cool to wear while sipping it. It gives me class I don't normally have. I have never tried Scapa, because it looks kind of light, which to me means tasteless.

But I can milk this for 90 minutes and it will keep me warmer than a girlfriend.

Oh, come on, Pukin Dog. With a screen name like yours, how could you not ooze class?

I have never tried Scapa, because it looks kind of light, which to me means tasteless.

Don't be a colorist. Scapa has a much deeper and richer color than some Islay malts I've had.

But I can milk this for 90 minutes and it will keep me warmer than a girlfriend.

Well, I wouldn't know. But try plying her with Scapa, if the Laphroaig is too intense for her.

Pukin Dog is from my old squadron: The World Famous Pukin Dogs of Fighter Squadron VF-143. I've never seen an Islay that was light like Scapa, but maybe I'll try it if someone else is buyin. I scare girlfriends away on a monthly basis, before they get near my liquor.

Why they sent Wilson, the Larry Johnson connection to Plame and the Senate Intelligence Committee "leaked" strategy memo make me want an open investigation into who is politicizing our intelligence and National Security. Add this to the shut down of Able Danger and Clinton refusing Osama Bin Laden from the Sudanese - it's truly frightening.

Not at all...well OK maybe instead of I!

Loved the Zahn books (my favorites of the extended universe) and thought the stories were a heck of a lot better than trade federation blah blah and any scene with Jake Reed and Hayden Christensen in them.

Especially since if they'd done them a few years ago, they could have rolled with the original castmembers for the first of the series anyway.
