Republican National Committee ^

MSNBC's Chris Matthews: "[I]'m Sitting Here Holding In My Hands, A Pretty Disgusting Document, This Is Put Out Not For Attribution. But It Comes From The Democrats, They're Circulating It. I Can Say That." (MSNBC's "MSNBC Live," 10/31/05)
- Matthews: "[T]hen Their Complaint Sheet Against Judge Alito's Nomination. The First Thing They Nail About This Italian American Is He Failed To Win A Mob Conviction In A Trial 20 Years Ago, Or Something Way Back In '88." (MSNBC's "MSNBC Live," 10/31/05)
- Matthews: "In Other Words, They Nail Him On Not Putting Some Italian Mobsters In Jail From The [Lucchese] Family. Why Would They Bring Up This Ethnically Charged Issue As The First Item They Raise Against Judge Alito?" (MSNBC's "MSNBC Live," 10/31/05)
- Matthews: "This Is Either A Very Bad Coincidence Or Very Bad Politics. Either Way Its Gonna Hurt Them. This Document: Not Abortion Rights, Not Civil Rights But That He Failed To Nail Some Mobsters In 1988. This Is The Top Of Their List Of What They've Got Against This Guy. Amazingly Bad Politics." (MSNBC's "MSNBC Live," 10/31/05)
Matthews: "[The Democrats Are] Trying Not To Put A Signature On It, But I Just Did." (MSNBC's "MSNBC Live," 10/31/05)

The thing is people only watch Hard Boiled because they never quite know which Chris Matthews is going to show up.
To: Brilliant
I know this might get me flamed, but I have never been convinced that Matthews is a rabid dem. I watched him back during the Clinton impeachment and 2000 elections before FoxNews really took off. I actually thought he was pretty fair back then. Also, I heard that his brother stated that Chris actually voted for Bush in 2000. I think Chris turned much more dem after the Iraq war because he is decidely against it. IMO, if you ever notice the rabid statements that he spews, they always relate to the Iraq war in some way.

This is the same weary Kabuki that O'Reilly occasionally plays to no end. When your side screws up so royally that even a blind caveworm would recall, pounce!
*yawn*
Bogus.

He's just giving his buds a heads up on what would be a disgraceful dem memo backlash...could still happen. I don't trust Chris any further than i can throw him.

This makes Matthews, Cooper, and Corn all coming out today in opposition to Dem talking points. Coincidence?

Matthews was a Dem operative in a previous life. I think he worked for Carter and Mondale, if I'm not mistaken.

I don't dance with the devil. Matthews will remember himself tomorrow.
To: Southack
Mathews is right that this is bad politics for the Dems. Their hit-piece document against Alito is going to strike many as being anti-Italian...in other words...racist.
You are wrong Grasshopper. Leftists cannot be racist. They are elites. They are wise. They are educated. They are beyond being racist. They are above such things. They know better.
Okay, I will shut up, even making myself sick just typing it.

I guess I am sort of lucky that my name doesn't end in a vowel, like my mother's maiden name. My father is Polish, althogh the name looks Indian (ends in -aj). The admissions committee at the University of Chicago must have thought I was one of those "brainy Indians."

On DU they say he supports lesbian pedophilia rape Are they citing that as a reason to support him, then?

It means I detest Matthews.

Shrillary doesn't do the Columbus Day Parade.
The contempt for HRC among that crowd is only slightly less palpable than the antipathy felt towards her by the attendees of the Von Steuben Day Parade.
To: Brilliant
Really, I thought he worked for Tip O'neil during the Reagan presidency, and yes I knew he was a democrat. Was just trying to make the point that he wasn't always rabid until the Iraq war.
