not somebody that's going to be writing the law from the bench," Reid said on ABC's "This Week."

Reid meant of course, someone who is not going to toss out a bunch of the activist Supreme Court decisions of the last several decades

With Stevens' advanced age, the decision might not be his.

I'll apologize for Chuckie in advance.

What can I say. The red bits of NYS need their own state.

This is an excellent nomination.

The Democrats will filibuster. Which will make it time for this option:

Let's get after it, Dims: time to put up or shut up in your scummy attempts to vitiate the prerogatives of the winners of an election.

BRING IT ON.

No, it won't matter to the Dems who only care about the religion of abortion but it might matter to some here that he'd make a majority of Catholics on SCOTUS.

Oddly enough, today's the anniversary of Martin Luther's 95 theses.

You are an idiot of DU dimensions. The racial and religious politics you engage in is no different than the worst of the RATS. Go to DU with that nonsense.

Now let's see if Specter supports this choice. If not, there is BIG TIME trouble. Right now, it is almost ALL about Specter.

In his own mind, sure. And he does hold an influential role, but not the only influential role.

I am elated that the Miers-supporters who preditced the nomination of Gonzales were WRONG!

I never thought Gonzales was being considered for the SC. There's never been anything more than rumor and speculation to support that possibility. No indication from anyone that matters that Gonzales was ever under consideration.

Write to and call all Senator's on the Judiciary Committee and tell them of your strong support for this nominee- and to leave the nuclear option for Iran.

ABC is stating that Alito is definitely the President's choice. Now the only question remains...can the President get this guy confirmed? We have seven weak Rino's in the Senate. I will wait and see. I was not sure when many hear called for a real conservative exactly how such a candidate would be confirmed.

An excellent choice. Now let's see if the Democrats self destruct by filibustering.

I wonder if Ted Kennedy will dust off his Robert Bork's American speech.

Well, that explains a lot.

Incredible. Alter is equating what Rove did - discussing Plame - with what Sandy Berger did - stole classified documents from the National Archives.
