If you're brave enough, climb aboard, no ticket required……we're about to take off.

Come on, hop in, watch your step ...... Let me set my controls.

Buckle up. Now don't be afraid....I know how to fly this thing.......Here we goooooooooo.......LIFT OFF……..

WHOOOOOOSHHHHHHHH

Landing with a gentle thump. Here we are - Let me turn on the television to see what is on.

Combat Theme Song

None listed

Combat Tidbits

Combat depicted the lives of one platoon of soldiers fighting their way across Europe in World War II. The long running show was very realistic, even to the point of using actual war footage in some epsiodes. And unlike many other WWII shows, this cast was sent to "boot camp" before filming began. Neither the war nor the cast was ever portrayed ina glamorous way.

Passings

Vic Morrow died in 1982 as a result of a helicopter crash on the set of "Twilight Zone:The Movie," Dick Peabody in 1999 of prostrate cancer and Rick Jason in 2000 of self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Norbert Meisel as Truck Driver / German Guard / ... (6 episodes)

Stanley Adams as El Gamil (3 episodes)

Claudine Longet as Marianne (2 episodes)

Michael Vandever as Lt. Dorf / Lt. Reiner (2 episodes)

Rat Patrol Theme Song

Rat Patrol Tidbits

Set in North Africa during World War II, this series chronicles the adventures of a 4-man team of commandos within the Long Range Desert Group. (In utter defiance of historical accuracy, the team consists of three Americans and one Brit.) Armed with jeeps equipped with .50-caliber machine guns--and endless chutzpah--they wage a highly irregular war against Rommel's Afrika Korps. Their most common nemesis is Hauptmann Dietrich, though Dietrich and the Rats join forces from time to time against a common enemy.

Each episodes title had the word Raid in it. This show rode in on the heels of the highly popular COMBAT. However it sadly lacked the excitement and interesting story lines that Combat had. The same U.S. and British guys fought the same German Afrika Corp guy week in and week out. Sometimes they all teamed up with each other. The stories in those weren't any better.

The red cap that Pvt. Hitchcock wears is a Civil War Confederate artillery lieutenant's kepi.

Passings

Didn’t find anything on this

Special Note: The information on this series was very sketchy and I had to piece a lot of it together. If you see errors or can add anything else, feel free to say something.

F Troop

9/14/1965 – 8/31/1967 ABC

Black and White/Color – 30 minutes

F Troop Cast

Forrest Tucker as Sgt. Morgan O'Rourke

Larry Storch as Cpl. Randolph Agarn

Melody Patterson as Wrangler Jane Angelica Thrift

Frank DeKova as Chief Wild Eagle

Don Diamond as Crazy Cat

James Hampton as Trooper Hannibal Dobbs

Bob Steele as Trooper Duffy

Joe Brooks as Trooper Vanderbilt

John Mitchum as Trooper Hoffenmueller

Regular guests:

Ivan Bell as Trooper Duddleson (6 episodes)

Benny Baker as Pete / Pete the Bartender (4 episodes)

Ben Frommer as Smokey Bear / Papa Bear (4 episodes)

Harvey Parry as Charlie / Charley / ... (3 episodes)

James Gregory as Major Duncan / Big Jim Parker (3 episodes)

F Troop Theme Song

None listed. There is one but could not find it.

F Trooop Tidbits

The stars of this military farce were the gallant incompetents of F Troop at Fort Courage, somewhere west of the Missouri, in post-Civil War days. The CO was the wide-eyed, bumbling Captain Parmenter, who had been promoted from private during the closing days of the war when he accidentally led a charge in the wrong direction, toward the enemy. Unbeknowst to the captain, Sgt. O'Rourke had already negotiated a secret, and highly profitable treaty with the Hekawi Indians, from whom he also had an exclusive franchise to sell their souvenirs to tourists. There was no peace treaty with the Shugs, however, and they sometimes caused trouble. Cpl. Agarn was O'Rourke's chief aid and assistant schemer, and Wrangler Jane the hard-riding, fast-shooting cowgirl who was out to marry Parmenter.

Passings

Once again I found nothing on this.

That's the end of the ride for today. Please watch your step on exiting the time machine. Now that I've shown you a few, how about you share something from your memory. Or, if one of these were your favorite show then, share a memory of the best episode for you.

"Salsa...Salsa boy!"

Forgive me if I sound like a Yankee, but what is the difference between salsa and Pico de Gallo?

Yes, the internet is fixed and yes I'm ready to post salsa, rumba or Latin jazz. Yes, I know that the English spelling for "rumba" has an "h" in it. "R - u - m - b - a" is the Spanish spelling and I just can't make myself put that "h" in there. :-) It would seem like sacrilege.

The bosses are fine. I just took the trash out so that the little boss could bark her head off at me.

She doesn't like it when I go anywhere without her permission or don't take her with me. :-)

Combat was an awesome show for it's time....and yes, black and white made it more dramatic, I think. Like the old newsreels of war news.

I didn't even notice that his headgear was wrong! My hubby, who was in the AF, always notices when aircraft are wrong in a scene. Drives me nuts with it....I would never know the difference! LOL!

I've had a very good couple of days, AZ.

President Bush signed the Handgun Manufacturer's Protection Act Tuesday.

Harriet Miers withdrew her Supreme Court nomination today.

Dems in general are going Ballistic.

Life Is Good!

Jack.

BIG difference...Pico de Gallo is a fresh mix of ingredients...tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, cilantro & garlic if you please with a squeeze of fresh lime. It's not a sauce at all. Very fresh & yummy!

OK, lets see.....my first tivo is 2am, (your 5a) 7pm Korea time. That would seem to maybe be the original. I tivo again at 4:30a (your 7:30a) (9:30p Korea time) and it's a repeat. We'll have to ask lauren later. I'm wondering if maybe a repeat got preempted....2p (your 5p) is 7a Korea time....can't be the original.

Better a moose on the lawn than a mouse in the house

Too true. The cats bring a vole or mouse in on occasion. They don't really hurt them, but it's always a chore trying to catch them.

LOL. Thank you for the polite answer. After I posted the question, I felt you would reply, one is a latin dance and one "...is a fresh mix of ingredients..."
