just breaking!!!!!!!!
Man, some people are just thick. Your tagline is apt. They do need to just deal with it. Just as we would've been harped on to do, had this gone the other way. Blackbird.
Oh ye of little faith...

You were one of the strongest bashers in the anti-Miers crowd, and now you want everyone to forget the damage you have done. Actions have consquences, and over time this is going to have major consquences. Even Rush agreed this was a big negative.
Has your "peach of a mind" elevated you to head of a 400-attorney law firm not to mention the highest-ranking attorney in the White House?!
I said: What he needs is another Roberts. Conservative, qualified, and "under the radar" enough to be hard to oppose. So MY prediction (which is probably unlike many other FReepers) is that the next nominee will not be a name with which we are familiar, but someone with outstanding scholarly credentials. Meaning: not a lot of rulings to examine, but a lot of conservative thought. That's harder to argue against because the nominee can demonstrate the necessary judicial intellectual rigor to be on the SCOTUS, but wouldn't have a record of actual pronouncements.
SCOTUSblog says:
"The solution to this array of dilemmas perhaps would be for Bush to find another John Roberts, an individual with undoubted qualifications, an intimacy with constitutional doctrine, and a most affable personality. The lesson of Roberts' relatively easy confirmation as Chief Justice seems more vivid now. With all of the President's other troubles now, that may be quite an attractive prospect."
Yes, so all the conservatives will be overjoyed to know that SANDRA DAY O'CONNOR will most likely remain on the bench and be the deciding vote on all those cases this year...including the ones dealing with abortion.
"You were one of the strongest bashers in the anti-Miers crowd, and now you want everyone to forget the damage you have done. Actions have consquences, and over time this is going to have major consquences. Even Rush agreed this was a big negative."
What damage? Not nearly as bad as living with a pro-affirmative action and pro-abortion Justice for 30 years!!!!
No you don't, because I never said anything remotely similar to that.
Don't lie about me again.
Bill Nelson is up for re-election in Florida. These guys need to have pressure applied to them. If they filibuster, the GOP leadership must force them to go 24/7, like in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (only this time with the bad guys doing the filibustering).
psssst... see post 2,685.
You may not be those things in real life, but often times your posts do come across as a bush-bot.
You probably don't mean for it to come across it does, but you seem to get really upset whenever anyone criticizes the president - especially a pundit.
I know the president takes a lot of unfair attacks from the left, but you're among fellow conservatives here and criticizing Bush when he does something questionable shouldn't invoke such a reaction.
Again, I'm sure you don't mean for it to come across that way - I'm just explaining why some may feel that you are somewhat of a Bushbot. Your user id probably plays into it too.
And I'd like an all-expenses paid trip to Europe (including Tahiti), and Michelle Malkin's unmarried twin sister's phone number.
Gary and Ohio believe that it WAS a qualification, and that any disagreement is belittling their faith.

That is absolutly false. We simply believed it was an additional attribute, which showed the lady had strong moral character, and that has been lacking in all of those sitting on the court with the exception of Thomas and Scilia.
Yes, about 40% of the hispanic vote is what elected him. The first generation hispanics are very conservative and still pretty religious... it's the second to third generation the dems are counting on.
"Plus, the Senators job was to have the hearings, first in the Judiciary Committee.....they could have listened and voted her down..."
I do not believe that "hearings" are constitutionally required. What occurred here was "advice and consent"--albeit informal.
An argument can be made that those Republicans who continue to PUBLICLY criticize the Miers opponents as meanspirited, are piling on and solidifying the same criticism coming from the MSM and the Democrats which is bad for the Republican party and the Conservative cause.
Few if any of the Miers opponents, though they may disagree with your characterization, are suggesting you keep that opinion to yourself.
Well if Bush hadn't wasted so much time, we wouldn't be in this situation. Better for O'Conner to be on the bench for another month than another Souter to be on the bench for the next 30 years.
"They've just been handed a mighty weapon and they know it."
How so? Please explain how this is a weapon for the moonbats.
I have noticed that from some of the comments. Part of me wishes she had stayed until Judicial hearings but the other part of me is very glad she withdrew.
The childish antics of some on here from both sides doesn't help at all. Calling people names is stupid IMHO. I reserve the right to disagree with this President even though I have supported him since 1994 in Texas -- he doesn't surround himself with lockstep people so why shouldn't we be able to disagree without being disagreeable.
The thread is the perfect reason I did not get involved in the threads before -- leaders from both sides are wrong IMHO with their we don't need your vote crap! Last time I checked, Republicans need the votes of every last person we can get. To tell the religious right we don't need your vote or the more moderate Republicans we don't need your vote is flat out stupid IMHO.
I haven't spent years in the trenches getting Conservative Republicans elected to tell any group we don't need your vote. I want every last vote I can get for a candidate that I support as a member of the grassroots.
Time some folks on here took off their blinders and rolled up their sleeves to elect conservatives and quit these flame wars that get out of hand with name calling. I know that I have been in a lot of them. This time I did not have the knowledge to come down on either side which told me that this was not the candidate I would have preferred.
This Coburn Republican from the grassroots thinks people should channel their energies toward electing more Conservative Republicans instead of fighting each other. We have enough disruptors on here to fight as it is without going after people we know share a basic conservative philosophy.
My more than two cents!
