ABCNEWS TELLS WHITE HOUSE OF 'INDICTMENT' Tue Oct 25 2005 19:08:02 ET

"We have double sourced that the vice president's chief of staff has been indicted," a reporter for ABCNEWS claimed to a White House press spokesman this afternoon.

The White House refused to comment on the claim. The network said they didn't need comment, they were preparing to run with the development on this evening's network news broadcast, sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

ABCNEWS claimed to the White House that it had double sourced how an indictment against vice presidential chief of staff I. Lewis Libby was set.

A senior White House source quickly determined ABC was bluffing; the report did not run on the East coast feed of the program.

Developing...

UPDATE

ABC NEWS spokesman Jeff Schneider tells the DRUDGE REPORT: "There is nothing at all true about us having double sourced anything" regarding indictments.

More from Drudge:

CBS’ JOHN ROBERTS: Lawyers familiar with the case think Wednesday is when special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald will make known his decision, and that there will be indictments. Supporters say Rove and the vice president’s chief of staff, Scooter Libby, are in legal jeopardy...

"A bad day for Bush for sure, but Clinton had dozens of more major scandals."

Clinton surrounded himself with crooked shysters and thugs and he was a horribly inept president, but thanks to the MSM that is not the perception in the eyes of many in the U.S. and around the world.

The MSM prides itself in practicing the art of perception trumping reality. As part of their perpetual collusion with the Democratic Party at the highest levels they've been selling lies and distortions regarding President Bush and his administration for so long that many people incredibly already believe that his administration is more corrupt than Clinton's. Any indictments they get, no many how paltry compared to the forty-some from the Clinton administration, will seal the deal in the minds of many. That's all they care about.

Such a prospect is nearly as good to them as if Saddam's army had been successful in slaughtering ours. Bringing down Bush is their obsessive objective. That it has been such a massive undertaking, allowing for no other goals, and taken so many so long and this is the best they can come up with speaks volumes.

I think it was Levin that said tonight...that sometimes on the last day of a Grand Jury's term...some of them don't show up...and so if there are going to be indictments "voted" on buy the GJ, more than likely it will be tomorrow.

fineman and Matthews were as recently as a few days ago talking about a megaton political explosion going off in the WH.

Sounds like they have been channeling wet dreams with the grand mistress, Hitlery.

"Gee, Mr. FBI man, everybody around here just calls him good ol' Mr. Wilson. Margaret and Joey say that his wife works undercover for the CIA.

That post, along with the pic, is great!

Is that a product of your own creativity?

Astros 5, Black Sox 5, top of the 11th. Brad Lidge pulled for a pinch hitter. Then both were promptly indicted.

Now I know what it MEANT; and you know I know what it meant.

I'll bet you Matthews spends the night at the MSNBC studio so he won't miss being "on air" when the big news comes.

Maybe CBS- they had it for their lead on the evening news.

CBS will lead with forged indictments then claim that, OK they were forged, but the content is true....

Fitz better have a helluva tight case for indicting Rove/Cheney/Libby

There's no case, because there's no crime. Somebody called bull*** on a slimy, socialist hack and his bubblehead wife's lies.

And 22 months later, we're still dealing with it.

I feel like I'm living in the Twilight Zone.

Did you see this?

** A former CIA covert agent who supervised Mrs. Plame early in her career yesterday took issue with her identification as an "undercover agent," saying that she worked for more than five years at the agency's headquarters in Langley and that most of her neighbors and friends knew that she was a CIA employee.
"She made no bones about the fact that she was an agency employee and her husband was a diplomat," Fred Rustmann, a covert agent from 1966 to 1990, told The Washington Times.**

Isn't leaking grand jury information a felony?

Yup. But only if the leaker actually has any valid information to leak. There's still no law against making up facts out of whole cloth and reporting them as news. If there were the MSM would be out of business.

Just more chicanery from the MSM. Lucy Ramirez is the probable source.

Would be funny as heck to find out Rove babbabooied them just to fully and completely discredit them by leaking a complete line of BS to them and having them go to press with it.
