ABCNEWS TELLS WHITE HOUSE OF 'INDICTMENT' Tue Oct 25 2005 19:08:02 ET

"We have double sourced that the vice president's chief of staff has been indicted," a reporter for ABCNEWS claimed to a White House press spokesman this afternoon.

The White House refused to comment on the claim. The network said they didn't need comment, they were preparing to run with the development on this evening's network news broadcast, sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

ABCNEWS claimed to the White House that it had double sourced how an indictment against vice presidential chief of staff I. Lewis Libby was set.

A senior White House source quickly determined ABC was bluffing; the report did not run on the East coast feed of the program.

Developing...

UPDATE

ABC NEWS spokesman Jeff Schneider tells the DRUDGE REPORT: "There is nothing at all true about us having double sourced anything" regarding indictments.

More from Drudge:

CBS’ JOHN ROBERTS: Lawyers familiar with the case think Wednesday is when special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald will make known his decision, and that there will be indictments. Supporters say Rove and the vice president’s chief of staff, Scooter Libby, are in legal jeopardy...

Tuck's mom doesn't have to watch. She dressed him this morning so she already knows what he's wearing.

Watergate turned out to be a way to get FBI autonomy from Nixon.  Now the cat is out of the bag -- In Plamegate the renegade

Prosecutor, Patrick Fitzgerald, is attempting to make a move to head of the FBI !!!!:

FBI News:

In Long WPost Profile, Fitzgerald Mentioned As Possible Successor To Mueller.   The Washington Post (2/2, C1, Slevin) reports Chicago US Attorney Patrick J. Fitzgerald, who is also "the special prosecutor investigating the leak of covert CIA operative Valerie Plame's name...seems to fret little that he is now tangling simultaneously with the Bush White House and the New York Times, two of the nation's most powerful and privileged institutions." The Post quotes deputy attorney general James B. Comey, who is described as "unofficial president-for-life of the Pat Fitzgerald Booster Club," says "What's been interesting is seeing the media accounts and the columnists portray him as some sort of runaway prosecutor. ... Because there is no prosecutor who is less of a runaway than this guy." The Post notes that Fitzgerald has been talked about as the next FBI director and he "did not say he was uninterested."

It's on now. This neighbor has talking points. Just said FBI wanted to know if he knew about her being at CIA BEFORE THE GOVERNMENT LEAKED IT. This is BS.

MSNBC: NYT is reporting Fitzgerald is investigating if Rove was forthcoming about contacts with reporters.

I'm glad I was away last week and missed this feeding frenzy :-)
