ABCNEWS TELLS WHITE HOUSE OF 'INDICTMENT' Tue Oct 25 2005 19:08:02 ET
"We have double sourced that the vice president's chief of staff has been indicted," a reporter for ABCNEWS claimed to a White House press spokesman this afternoon.
The White House refused to comment on the claim. The network said they didn't need comment, they were preparing to run with the development on this evening's network news broadcast, sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.
ABCNEWS claimed to the White House that it had double sourced how an indictment against vice presidential chief of staff I. Lewis Libby was set.
A senior White House source quickly determined ABC was bluffing; the report did not run on the East coast feed of the program.
Developing...
UPDATE
ABC NEWS spokesman Jeff Schneider tells the DRUDGE REPORT: "There is nothing at all true about us having double sourced anything" regarding indictments.
More from Drudge:
CBS JOHN ROBERTS: Lawyers familiar with the case think Wednesday is when special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald will make known his decision, and that there will be indictments. Supporters say Rove and the vice presidents chief of staff, Scooter Libby, are in legal jeopardy...
Another update from Drudge:
Indictments in CIA leak case about to be handed down
Could we get that lucky?
If it was at the White House, it was him!
I thought there were some allegations about drugs and Hamilton Jordan, not an indictment, but I thought he had to resign.
Plus several CIA directors were indicted and wasn't Ron Brown indicted in Clinton's Administration.
Dang. You are throwing indictments around pretty heavily tonight. Is that Ronnie Earle using the DE Squat account?
5 Neocons are heading to jail!

A Palpable Silence at the White House
Few Ready to Face Effects of Leak Case

At 7:30 each morning, President Bush's senior staff gathers to discuss the
important issues of the day -- Middle East peace, the Harriet Miers nomination,
the latest hurricane bearing down on the coast. Everything, that is, except
the issue on everyone's mind...
-- snip --
...Others, including Rove, Bolten, counselor Dan Bartlett, senior adviser
Michael J. Gerson and press secretary Scott McClellan, have been running at full
tilt since 1999, when the Bush team began gearing up in Austin for the first
campaign.
At the same time, the innermost circle has shrunk in the second term, mainly
to Vice President Cheney, Card, Rove, Bartlett, Libby and, on foreign policy
issues, national security adviser Stephen J. Hadley. Aides who joined the White
House staff after last year's reelection, such as communications director
Nicolle Devenish (who now goes by her married name, Nicolle Wallace),
"For a prosecutor investigating leaks, he sure has a hell of a lot of leaks."
LOL
I used to think Kristol was ok, but the more I learn the more he strikes me as a worm.
When was LG on Tony's show? I would love to have seen that. Hahaha!
How's your stick business going? You know, the ones you sell to beat that dead horse with. It's done. It does no good to GO BACK. Can you please get current and help with the situation at hand?
Now he saying that Cheney isn't in legal trouble .. just political trouble
Really? Flipping back to olboeman now... wow, Al Franken up next!
Enough and enough!
"Dude, you're getting an indictment!"
I heard Mo was ticked because she had to move all of her stuff out of Judy's plush and bigger office, now that Judy is out of jail. For Mo, it was like reliving the White House press briefing room incident all over again.

Nah, I think it began with an h. This is going to bug me.
" Chrissy is pushing the Cheney involvement"unindicted co conspirator" angle..I did a rare watch tonight.."
I watched about 3 minutes of the Chris Matthews/ NYT Grand Jury and my impressions are as follows.
According to Special Prosecutor Chris Matthews, VP Cheney egregiously and with malice aforethought violated the Joe Wilson Adoration and Protection Act by telling Tim Russert
" I don't know Joe Wilson and I've never met him."
Matthews demanded a perjury indictment because of that.
Then Special Prosecutor Matthews showed text of Judy Miller's article in the NYT and contrasted that with today's NYT article.
A perjury and conspiracy charge should be brought against Cheney because Miller testified that Libby said that Cheney was unaware of Valerie Plame.
Apparently , when one speaks to a NYT reporter, it's comparable to being under oath .
The Matthews Grand Jury believes that Libby to Miller about Cheney is the same as Cheney testifying under oath.
I hope that MSNBC has EMT's on stand by , because Matthews appears to be decompensating and is hanging on by a thread.
Forget Shep and Geraldo's "For The Love Of God " moments in New Orleans.
No one can touch Matthews for hysteria. No one.
BTW- Are Matthews and Russert twins ? The resemblance is uncanny.
Was.
He be toast now.
In the very, very near future, everyone gets their 15 minutes of indictments. You still haven't gotten yours? Mine came yesterday. They left it in the refrigerator...
I think the AllButtCrap network was Rather wrong. Nice try you flamin liberal bleeders.

Can you refresh my memory on this incident?
