IRAQ THE MODEL
Saturday, October 15, 2005
http://iraqthemodel.blogspot.com/

Just said my YES...(updated)

Probably the worst thing today is the intense heat which was a little over 100f but that didn’t stop the crowds from walking in the sun to the voting stations, I personally had to walk nearly 4 miles in total but it’s definitely worth the effort.
The presence of Iraqi army and police units is heavier than it was in January elections and I also noticed that no multinational forces were on the streets and the only sign for their presence was the helicopters that patrolled the skies.

The turnout in our district looks quiet good and actually going to the voting office was a good opportunity to meet some friends I haven’t seen in months.
I met one friend on the way and when I asked him what would his vote be he said that he hasn’t decided yet “if I voted yes I would be approving some articles that I don’t agree with and if I voted no we would go back to where we started from…” he said and that was really refreshing because this guy who used to believe in conspiracy theories and stuff like “what America wants is what’s going to happen” now feels that his vote can make a difference.

Generally speaking, the process is going smoothly so far and this is encouraging because terrorists usually concentrate their attacks before noon so hopefully it will continue like this for the rest of the day.

Oh GOD..I just turned on CNN..Christianne is beside herself attempting to downplay the good that is taking place today.

I had to turn it off. CNN had the following vote totals under their "Breaking News" banner: 223 Yes; 233 No.

How is CNN still on the air?

I know what you mean about Amanmpour. She was interviewing someone in Iraq who was reporting a vote tally. The guy said that so far the Yes vote was 227 and the No vote was 233. When he ended his report, Amanmpour's immediate question, spoken as though it hadn't been clear, was: "What were those vote tallies, again?"

(Don't cite me on exact words, but the meaning is dead on.)

HEY! I don't like it, but as a super duper secret agent of THEM I would be remiss in my duties if I didn't. Then THEY would come after me. (shudder)

Can you remind me which election it was that Hitler won? He was soundly trounced in every one he was in. His rise to power was due to appointments. These appointments were largely done under duress (Hitler had 20 goons for every soldier in Germany. A large # of the soldiers were either very sympathetic to his cause or were at his side.) The only power struggle he won was the Enabling Act, which made him Fuehrer. This was after the Communist representatives were temporarily locked up after the Reichstag was burnt. Hardly a fair election.

Par for the course for Christianne. But the facts will eventually come out.

She's not going to get away with her 'creative' deceit. People want to know what's going on in Iraq, and Amanpour's lies aren't going to keep the truth from them.

Even with leftist distortion, this is an amazing day!

The devil went down to Baghdad, He was lookin for a soul to steal
Shouting bout Jihad From Islamabad, His turban was white and teal.
When he came across a young man name of GW who wanted the W.O.T.
The devil crawled from an Afghanistan cave and said GW what you got?
I guess you didn't know it but I hate you like a Jew, and if you care to take a dare I'll start a jihad on you.
Now you play pretty good politics boy, but give the devil his due
72 virgins and gold against your soul cause Mohammad is better than you.
The boy said my names Walker and you are nothin but pure sin
I'll take your bet your gonna regret cause the free world will always win.

Georgie split them Muslims up and he's fighting really hard.
Cause hells broke loose in Iraq and the devil blows up cars.
And if we win their futures clear, great stories will be told
But if we loose we'll bomb then twenty foooooooold.
(violin break) :-)

Sheesh. Now CNN is interview a "women's rights expert" on the Middle East.

According to her "educated women in Iraq are being assasinated". "Young women seeking an education are being kidnapped". And there are "many doubts" about what this constitution provides for women, such as inheritance rights and freedom to travel.

Asked if this is "moving forward", she declines to answer, but reverts to say "the PROCESS is important" and more discussion is needed.

For heaven's sake, how deep does CNN have to dig to find these nattering nabobs?!

How did that General get on there that was upbeat about the Iraqi army?? He was saying how they are taking ownership of their army and their Country. He sounds like they are taking over security very well and getting better.

His best line was that the soldiers don't have to as good as ours, only better than the insurgents!!

Pray for W and Our Freedom Fighters

Why does our local talk show station bother with them is the question.
Our second conservative outlet uses ABC (marginally fairer).
A third station, carrying Hugh Hewitt, Michael Medved, Laura Ingraham, and others, has its own news affiliation which gives the semi-hourly news broadcasts in more conservative, even pro-religious, fashion.

and anyone else with men and women serving in Iraq.

Please tell your sons and daughters, husbands and wives, that all of us in America are also very proud of them. What an accomplishment and they were part of it. God bless them all.

Historic Day in Iraq

Voting by Yes or No for the constitution is in progress now in all parts of Iraq. The number of voters exceeded the expected limits especially in areas like Mosel which had low turn out in the last election. Voting stations received large numbers in the Sunni areas including Ramadi, Falluja and Diyala.

No major problems until now and the voters are free to cast their votes.

This is the first time for the Iraqis to vote for their own constitution. It is indeed the first time in the Middle East especially the Arab countries.

We expect a big YES for the constitution possibly around 80%. This YES is a big bullet in the head of the terrorism.

This is a historic day and the political process moving forward in spite of the efforts of all of the evils to disable or delay it.

Associated Press ^ | October 15, 2005 | HAMZA HENDAWI BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's deeply divided Shiites, Sunnis and Kurds voted at heavily guarded polling stations across the country today, deciding whether to support a new constitution aimed at establishing democracy after more than two decades of Saddam Hussein's repressive rule. Insurgents attacked five of Baghdad's 1,200 polling So Moron Media, what does THAT tell us about your heroes the "insurgents"? 5 out of 1200 attacked? Not even .01% of the polling places? Kind of hard to sell the idea of a "Wide spread insurgency" when their "freedom fighters" cannot even hit a significant fraction of the polling places. Maybe it is time for the Dinosaurs to get OFF the terrorists side and start actually REPORTING in stead of SPINING?

I just reread my post to you....the 'you' in why do you even bother anymore was directed at CBS not you you, as in "Why does CBS even bother anymore?" (because their crediblity is shot).

Didn't mean to be that confusing. ;)

Our talk show station has dropped ABC and is now using Fox. ABC, at least in the headlines, wasn't too bad, but Fox is better...........except Julian Phillips, that is. :)
