I read the advertisement in the Union-Tribune for the annual Miramar Air Show Oct. 14, 15 and 16, and my jaw dropped in disbelief.
I just don't understand how the Blue Angels can justify fueling and flying these jets in their annual celebration given President Bush's plea to Americans to cut back on fuel usage.
Surely there is something better that can be done with our military manpower other than a boastful display of flying skills, like perhaps airlifting supplies and materials to aid the victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
Am I missing something here? Perhaps the thunder that we'll feel and hear when the Blue Angels fly overhead will be the sounds of the gods crying.
Everytime a liberal cries an angel gets is wings.

What is it with the liberals and their "zero sum" mentality that the "Blue Angels" are somehow taking something away from "hurricane victims"?
How much aid is being taken away from homeless hungry little black children by the Clinton Library and Adult Movie Theater?
The Blues were here in Millington, TN along with the Canuckistan Snowbirds a couple of weekends ago.
What a great show - I've seen them a bunch of times, I never get tired of 'em!
Sylvia, I have just the, uhhh, man for you.
Or a precision bombing run on the UN headquarters.
It was the RAAF (Australia) who worked out why the F-111 dump valve was located between the afterburner exhausts
Never fails to impress
great post in 16.
what is she going to do when she finds out they do these shows all over the country - not just once a year in San Diego?
P155 OFF!
There is no fuel (read energy) shortage! The alleged shortages would disappear completely with the enthusiastic application of AMERICAN ingenuity, dilligence, and the removal of government from the business of business.
Remember, the Japanese didn't get good at building cars on their own, an American showed them how!
Drill, produce, innovate (H fuel), and no government interfereance!
Top sends
Better to have the gods cry than listen to Sylvia whine.
Yes, I'd say a frontal lobe or two.
I think I'll save those pics.
Think of that, Sylvia Castelluzzo! A formation of pickemup trucks with nekkid lady mudflaps in 4WD playing Willy 'n' Waylon and doing a low pass over the airfield...all I got to say to that is (ahem) "Yeehah!"
"The Blue Angels are a major recruiting tool for the US Navy, just as the Thunderbirds are to the USAF and the Golden Knights are to the US Army. Get over it!"
The Golden Knights do incredible stuff, but I doubt they are as effective recruiting tool. When I joined the Army in 1983, the Golden Knights were not even a thought.
Blue Angels and Thunderbirds do all kinds of tricks that can be seen with the naked eye, especially the low overhead pass which is so close you think you can touch the plane.
Golden Knights do some very risky moves but from the ground it looks like a big fluster cluck in the sky.
Now, blowing stuff up with Apaches and M1 Abrams is what makes good recruiting tools.
Attention San Diego Freepers Here is how to see the airshow without dealing with the traffic of the air show. I used to work in this building in the 1980's. It is in Carroll Canyon between Miramar and Mira Mesa Blvds. Address is 6465 Nancy Ridge Rd. Actually there are a bunch of buildings up and down that street that would work, but this one has that little outcropping into the canyon. Most likely no one will be there on the weekend. The Blue Angels will fly right over your head, about 100 feet above you. Plug your ears. |
That's what makes American great! We can do both...you moron.
Yes.
Next question.
I agree ... in fact, I will email her the 0 point New Times Roman font for her next article.
I say strap this lib-whiner in the back of the 2 seater and make her puke in the O2 mask and see what crap she writes after that ride...
F-18s can't airlift anything. They could be used to strafe Ray Nagin, though. ...just a thought.
