CONGRESSMAN BUSTS BUSH POLICE STATE

Wednesday, October 12, 2005 - FreeMarketNews.com

A member of the House of Representatives, Ron Paul, who some call “the most courageous man in Congress,” appeared on alternative newscaster Alex Jones' radio show to make a series of stinging charges about the Bush administration. Paul represents the 14th Congressional district of Texas. He also serves on the House of Representatives Financial Services Committee, and the International Relations committee. He is know for his principled stand regarding the American Constitution – and for refusing to vote for legislation that he believes goes against the Founding Father’s intentions. Paul is also an FMNN commentator.

He is said to have made the following statements:

-Upcoming indictments of Bush administration officials will be far more damaging than most have expected.

-The Bush administration is attempting an end run around the Constitution by creating a militarized police state to take effect in the event of an avian flu pandemic – one that would include gun confiscation and ultimately martial law.

-The administration’s aggressive posture toward Iran, Syria, North Korea and China is “delusional.”

Paul, who is a medical doctor, went on record as stating that the bird flu threat was fearmongering. He is quoted as saying, "I believe it is the president hyping this and Rumsfeld, but it has to be in combination with the people being fearful enough that they will accept the man on the white horse. My first reaction going from my political and medical background is that it's way overly hyped and to think that they have gone this far with it, without a single case in the whole country and they're willing to change the law and turn it into a military state? That is unbelievable! They're determined to have martial law." staff reports - Free-Market News Network

I was wrong and in fact calling him a chiro isn't slander in my book, I go to one for my back, I just wouldn't go to one for the flu.

But again, I was wrong, I heard him speak in '88 during his presidential champaign and thought I heard him say he was but I obviously misunderstood and for that I apologize.

the bird flu thing is way overhyped

I agree. But so was the lack of Fed response to Hurricane Katrina...and we know how that turned out. Perhaps putting some preliminary money into this now will prevent huge financial drains later. Insurance if you will.

So Jefferson sending troops to the Barbary Coast without consulting Congress was not intervention?

the paranoid style in American politics has not yet completely moved over to the left.

Interesting. I've also detected the slithering to the Left amongst the Libertarian left. Having seen some of their cooperative ventures it's a done deal.

So did Bush with this Homeland Security crap that still has left our borders leaking like a sieve but has no problem shaking down gray-haired old folks in airports.

No doubt that TSA stinks and the open borders, north and south, are a joke.

We can hedge our bet by talking with our young men and women in the Military. Remind them who they work for. They do not work for the Government, they work for us, they are there to protect us and the freedoms we enjoy under the Constitution of the United States.

ANY order by ANY officer or Politician to violate our rights, 1st through 10th are ILLEGAL.

It was, and it was probably a mistake. Jefferson made quite a few mistakes during his presidency but his rhetoric was always on the mark. And he was certainly wise enough to avoid any futile nation-building exercises in N. Africa.

"I like Ron Paul on many levels"

Sounds as though he is vertically bi-polar. :-)

Ron Paul is teaming up with Alex Jones?

Nothing good can come of this.

The ran a lot of good NCO's off in the clinton days.
From what I have seen there are a lot of NCO's that know what is right and wrong, it is encouraging that the national guard refused to enforce the no guns order in N.O. after the hurricane I wish they would have told the LEO's that they could not allow them to proceed with the blatant violation of the 2nd and 4th! I remember my oath!

.....and the (alleged) Patriot Act that was repudiated by over 200 citygov's.......and the prescription drug benefit to be paid for by taxpayers and will bring more windfall profits to drug co's......allowing illegals to participate in receiving Social Security benefits (called "totalization")......the coming FTAA that will create an American Union, much like the EU and most likely will result in a crisis for our Const. and legal system.......are you still sure "dubyaismypresident"?

You're right, I'm stupid, don't know squat and am nothing more than a useless air breather.

I am properly chastised, especially by someone so erudite as yourself.

I agree with you. The stage was set by Clinton in the 90's. He let the librals run amuck creating a chaotic state. Thus from Chaos comes Tyranny.

Just yesterday, I praised a specific comment by Ron Paul. However, I know that he goes off like a steam whistle on other subjects. That's what he is doing here.

Over all, looking back at Ron Paul, I think the man is tremendous. No adoration here, just respect from me for him and you too.

Jack Kevorkian is a medical doctor too.

I don't think the degree guarantees common sense or sanity.
