CONGRESSMAN BUSTS BUSH POLICE STATE

Wednesday, October 12, 2005 - FreeMarketNews.com

A member of the House of Representatives, Ron Paul, who some call “the most courageous man in Congress,” appeared on alternative newscaster Alex Jones' radio show to make a series of stinging charges about the Bush administration. Paul represents the 14th Congressional district of Texas. He also serves on the House of Representatives Financial Services Committee, and the International Relations committee. He is know for his principled stand regarding the American Constitution – and for refusing to vote for legislation that he believes goes against the Founding Father’s intentions. Paul is also an FMNN commentator.

He is said to have made the following statements:

-Upcoming indictments of Bush administration officials will be far more damaging than most have expected.

-The Bush administration is attempting an end run around the Constitution by creating a militarized police state to take effect in the event of an avian flu pandemic – one that would include gun confiscation and ultimately martial law.

-The administration’s aggressive posture toward Iran, Syria, North Korea and China is “delusional.”

Paul, who is a medical doctor, went on record as stating that the bird flu threat was fearmongering. He is quoted as saying, "I believe it is the president hyping this and Rumsfeld, but it has to be in combination with the people being fearful enough that they will accept the man on the white horse. My first reaction going from my political and medical background is that it's way overly hyped and to think that they have gone this far with it, without a single case in the whole country and they're willing to change the law and turn it into a military state? That is unbelievable! They're determined to have martial law." staff reports - Free-Market News Network

Ron Paul, who some call “the most courageous man in Congress,”

Stop belittling Ted Kennedy.

If we are really in a Bush police state, Paul should be one of the first arrested and jailed as a traitor and leftist agitator.

Ron Paul hooking up with Alex Jones? I saw three Jones' videos and had a migraine after each one.

What a loon!

You guys can't ignore the fact that Bush is setting up a nice platform for a dictatorship. Certain aspects of homeland security, campaign finance reform, his silence on Kelo, an AG who does not believe in an absolute right to the RKBA, etc. Let's face it, if this was a democrat we'd be freaking out. All that being said, he is still better than kerry.

One day you will wake up with National Guard Troops patrolling your streets. Gun Confiscation will have begun, retraining camps will have cropped up at closed military installations across this country.

It will most likely happen under the likes of Hillary, Gore or Kerry, but it will happen.

and we will have this kind of federal power grab to thank for it.

If you don't think it can happen, then you need to take a closer look at world history.

Our Freedom REQUIRES Vigilance by WE the People. Not after the fact, BEFORE the fact.

Using Military forces for ANY reason within the Continental United States, in a law enforcement role is treasonous to our constitution and a threat to our homes and families.

Pardon me while I giggle my backside off at that shrillness.

Ron Paul is also in bed with Dennis Kucinich. That doesn't help establish a politician as a sober thinker.

I don't think I've read a Ron Paul quote yet that I didn't agree with.

Sad to see RP on Alex Jones, but over the last few years the trends have been very disturbing. I am more afraid of the power grabs and disreguard for personal liberty than I am of the terrorists, bird flu or just about any other "danger" to this country.

Very worried for our future.

Ron Paul should stay away from Alex Jones if he wants to keep his credibility.

Neither one of them are believable in my book.

I agree that there are elements in place. Relaxing Posse Comitatus is another red flag.

If things come to pass as you say, I am certain that the same folks who are cheerleading will also wake up one day and say, " How did this happen? ". I don't relish that prospect.

Then again, I won't have to worry. Paraphrasing Walter Williams: If that day comes, you can say 'Tench_Coxe' is dead.

Yeah the patriot act+ removing the prohibition on using military to enforce domestic law under Pres. hillary, AG spitzer, BATFE Director schumer, FBI Director finestin would be a great thing for liberty!

Like these new laws and EO's will graciously expire once Bush leaves office.

The founding fathers knew we couldn't buy safety with liberty. It seems that any time a president shows up on tv with a "War on" some issue, it just spirals and spirals until the Constitution is gutted. If you would have told me in 1999 that Republicans would propose unconstitutional legislation and grow government faster than Clinton, I would have laughed in your face.

I guess I'm starting to get the attitude "they're all the same". It aggravates me that he can call Kennedy "a great senator", adopts clinton as a brother, and disses the conservatives that helped get him elected. But I guess he can claim, you only hurt the ones you love.
