Does the MSM sense blood in the Bush administration water? That seems to be the case, judging from the breathtaking accusation that Katie Couric just leveled at it.
The context was Couric's interview of Chris Matthews on the subject of the investigation by special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald into possible leaks in the Valerie Plame affair.
Matthews was hostile enough, musing whether the Bush administration "in defending themselves against the charge we went to war for a corrupt or bogus reason, that there wasn't any weaponry, a deal with nuclear weapons, did they break the law?"
But that evidently wasn't venomous enough for Katie. She cut Matthews off peremptorily, interjecting:
"Yeah, and Chris isn't it more than just Iraq, doesn't it speak about the way this White House possibly operates" risibly seeking to distance herself from what was clearly her own notion by tacking on at the end of her question "in the minds of some?"
Matthews, perhaps shocked at the scope of Couric's charge, turned the matter back to the specific question at hand - whether the Bush administration, in seeking to discredit Joe Wilson, broke the law.
But just in case there were any doubts, now we know: Katie Couric, the most widely-watched, most powerful morning talk show host in America, views the President as heading a rogue administration whose modus operandi is to break the law. Stunning
She is my cousin
. . . by marriage only, but still embarassing.
This email concerning Rove's conversation to Cooper in which he said Cooper asked him about Wilson and in which Rove claimed Cooper and he first discussed welfare reform is NOT new. I am sure I heard of it months and months ago.
It's not your fault - the admissions committee made that decision. I'm sorry to say that Joe Lockhart spent one year at my undergrad school when I was there. That thought makes my stomach turn.
Oy, you poor thing! Family get-togethers must be tough.
You have my sympathies.
What would upset her applecart and bring a reality zing into her world of liberal muck?
What is the parent company of her network? Is she NBC? Or CBS? I cannot stand her and have not watched her even once since she interviewed Bob Dole when he was running for President and practically spit on him with the lizards and toads that fall along with her spittle.
(I'm awful at remembering who might want a ping!)
Mo1's # 79 is just too delicious! And doesn't it make sense Sid Vicious would be in on all these "Rove did it" leaks that are suspiciously being reported first by Wass, then repeated as gospel by the MSM.
thanks Mo1.
Last night and today again, Chris Matthews gives credit to these leakers as being " lawyers familiar with the case." In the same sentence he says Fitzgerald is not leaking.
MSMBC bimbo second news hour promo begins with, "The White House anxiety continues to grow". (Does she mean since the first soap opera hour?)
MSNBC keeps replaying the Meet The Press moment when Tim asks Matt Cooper, "Was your meeting with Karl Rove the first time you heard Joe Wilson's wife worked for the CIA?"
Cooper replies, "that's correct". (I don't believe this for a nano second! Cooper would easily lie to Tim Russert, especially to protect democrats like his wife, or other reporters, all of whom had to know from way back, where Joe Wilson's wife worked.)
I would like it noted: I'm watching NBC White House reporter Bob Kur (sp), on the White House lawn make his daily Rove report. He prefaces it by saying, " according to the National Journal..", which makes it look as if NBC does not want to be held responsible for the information it is reporting.
Matthews isn't happy unless he can say "ScooterLibby" 10 times each day on his show..
She doesn't really like to talk about our side of the family, we're so, you know, flyover country. Don't think we've EVER seen her at a reunion, even before she got famous. I think she's kin to us on her mom's side.
This should not be surprising either from the woman who said we can only hope Saddam escaped to Syria.
"This special prosecutor wouldn't be spending all of this time and not indict anyone".
Implying that he must indict somebody to justify his investigation.
Also alma mater of Ann Coulter, so that makes up for it a little.
(snip)
Katie Colic-primo prima donna, brain dead, spiritually dead and willing to slant anything and everything to protect a rapist and his ilk.
I don't understand what everyone is upset about. She said possibly. She didn't actually accuse the administration of acting this way, any more than Laura Bush was name calling when she said we were all possibly sexist yesterday. You are taking everything out of context.
( . . . but I knew the old fairy tale ahead of time.)
LOL. "W-Hatuh" perhaps?
LOL. And yes, I can attest that he did, because 'he' is 'me'!
