Graham had another line that I wanted to remember, but failed to.
It was Graham who first used "at the end of the day" during the Clinton impeachment proceeding in the House. After that, I started hearing numerous people saying 'at the end of the day' and had to laugh every time I heard it.
Everytime I've heard anyone make race a political move, it just shuts me off. It's sickening... These race baiters can't seem to understand the basic human dignity!!!
...speaking of Rove....all the talkers this weekend anticipate bad Rove news emerging. We all know it will be bunk because Plane was publically known, but the bigger point is the damage an indictment against Rove will do-- regardless of the merits---at this point in time.
Wrongly, the administration has been on the ropes for a while, and Rove might put it over the edge. In time, Rove, Delay, Frist will all be shown as baseless, but that won't make a damn bit of difference now.
Bubba is Altra's dog
MSNBC's question of the day for its viewers: "Shoud soldiers participate in BIG company aiding drug campaign?"
Wow! Shouldn't the question be "Is it safe for soldiers to ride bikes in Iraq?"
Yeah a big fight with a gutless Rep Senate on our side. You know the SAME people who passed a Terrorist Protection Amendment as part of this year's Defense Appropriation 90-9???? Really want to go to war with 45 Senators who would rather shoot at their OWN side then stand up for what is RIGHT. Funny how they all forget in the Senate the REASON the Constitution makes the President and not them is the Commander in Chief.
Actually I found Land to do the same Cheshire Cat immitation on MTP this morning. There were several times Tim asked him a question he was clearly uncomfortable answering.
For spokesman of God, he certainly sometimes talked in circles today.
What did the White House promise him this weekend?
:0)
Thanks! Not sure why his name slipped my mind (not enough coffee ;-) I believe you are correct - it was Ken Starr. Boy, the SC sure would have been different!
Promoting a man who stole from mansions.
Not a mention of Freeh.
Quelle surprise.
One more reason for Bush to veto something for a change. Sure wish Bush would realize McCain does not have one good idea worth considering.
from Jack Kelly's article:
"I used to think conservatives were morally superior to the moonbats of the Left. But the reaction to the Miers nomination indicates we are just as petty, petulant, snobbish, short-sighted, self-destructive and unfair as they are."
This has been the down note of the past week for me. Not only have the above qualities been revealed, but I do not recall the dems eating their own, so this seems to confirm that we are the Stupid party.
Well said and worth repeating again.
But within minutes, I saw every anchor on Fox discussing this as if it were true. This, even as DHS was trying to downplay it.
Same thing during Katrina. When Bush just said results were un-acceptable, the next minute Wendel Goler was saying on Fox that Bush acknowledges "Katrina Blunder". Correct description would be "Bush demand better results". Even yesterday, Harry Reid was described on Fox as "majority leader" multiple times.
We have no one but Brit to speak the unvarnished truth.
Pretty sad for our side and shows the power of the President's personna that so many put their trust in him and voted for him in 2004.
There was no issue on any topic that the media didn't seek to blame on the President.
BTW Great home page!!!!
I agree that Brownback coming out against Miers would influence me. It won't stop me from wanting to hear her directly, though.
It would also disappoint me greatly if he came out against her before the hearings. That would cause me to look more closely at his motives, what he might gain from such a betrayel of the President politically.
"Previous-McCain-supporter" Kristol is a card-carrying member of the
"Bush is a lame duck so let's kick him in the other leg"
branch of the Republican party.
Not only that, might want to ACTUALLY learn about Miers rather then just assuming a member of the Legal Establishment is going to be "great". Is anyone even LOOKING at what sort of decisions these "great minds" have been handing down recently? Sorry, if this is the elites "greatest minds" we have a SERIOUS problem with our education system.
Couple of interesting things. Miers has specifically stated that she would not of supported efforts to over turn the Texas anti-Sodomey law and she has specifically identified the Personal Right to Bear Arms as one of our "precisions liberties". Conservative Establishment all screams they want a "Strict Cosntrutionist" everything I have found out about her suggest she WOULD be. I suspect though is what most of the loudest voice in the punditry are NOT interested in a "Strict Constructions", what they want is a Conservative Judaical Activist.
