The Irish singing star Enya is recovering after a narrow escape from an intruder at her supposedly secure castle near Dublin. The entertainer locked herself in a panic room and activated a panic button after discovering that a man had made his way through the castle's defenses.
The intruder, who tied up a maid during the two hour incident, made his escape before police arrived.

NO other details. Thought Enya fans and LOTR fans might be interested in this. Thank God she's alright. Anyone know about Ireland's gun laws? They are surely a lot less liberal than those idiots in England. I'd love to see Enya posing for some Ann Coulteresque photos with a 357.

The intruder, who tied up a maid during the two hour incident, made his escape before police arrived. It took TWO FLIPPING HOURS for the police to arrive?

Weird. I'm glad she's OK. I love her song at the end of FOTR.
She lives in a castle!!? Cool.

2 hrs. - I think the intruder would have left sooner if she would have only started playing one of her cd's.

My "panic room" is being in the Water Closet, having just pinched off the morning constitutional, and seeing that I forgot to put a roll of paper on the thingie....
Is it left hand for hygiene and right hand for eating, or the other way around? I can never get that one down....

Hey I like Enya.
Likely he would have laid down and had a nice nap.

The intruder would have left sooner if Enya were armed and passed a firearms training course.

a man had made his way through the castle's defenses. What, is this like Helm's Deep or something? Did they try the vats of hot oil over the wall? Did the man have a battering ram?

Great. Now, instead of Enya, I've got Sting singing "Too Much Information"...running through my brain.
Outstanding.

Gandalf: [reads] They have taken the bridge and the second hall. We have barred the gates, but cannot hold them for
long. The ground shakes. The drums, drums in the deep. We cannot get out. A Shadow moves in the dark. We cannot get
out. They are coming.

Or not left at all.
I am sure she has a rose garden.
And rose bushes are a great for hiding things buried in the ground. (Not that I would know anything about that)

I guess when you work in a castle you can be considered expendable.
Who would live in a castle without having some kind of armed security?
To: Sam Cree
Yep. Enya lives in Ayesha Castle:
