BROOK PARK, Ohio (AP) -- A Marine Corps battalion that lost 48 members in Iraq arrived home Thursday to cheers and a parade attended by thousands of people.
Crowds lined the one-mile parade route from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport to welcome back the 160 members of the Headquarters & Service Company of the 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines.
(Excerpt) Read more at cnn.com ...
only reason they are showing people supporting the troops is because of the high casualty rate.
thats the only thing CNN wanted to put across in this story ... perpetual quack mire promotion, keeps cnn producers employed
my opinion
Much better to let them slink back to their homes without any recognition for their sacrifice at all?
That may be true. But at least they are showing lots of people support the troops. If only people would do more for these heroes.
Welcome home!
God Bless the Marines!
I'm cheering them from Dixie!!
Any man in uniform I meet in a bar gets offered a beer. If I meet him anywhere else I offer him my hand and thanks for serving.
IMO
Im just glad they returned to the welcome home they so richly deserve!

We really need FR Cable Station...
Cleveland bump for our local heros.
That is a great idea. I live near an Air Force base and every time I hear a plane flying overhead I run outside and wave at them knowing full well they can't see me. It would be nice to actually cheer them in person.
From WCMH TV4= COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Thousands of people lined Columbus streets Friday and welcomed home 140 Marines from Lima Company, part of a battalion in Iraq that lost 148 reservists. WCMH TV4
Check it out! There are all kinds of pictures. 92 pictures taken from TV4 (some not so good because of rain conditions) and 87 sent in from people in the crowds.
Just look for and click on where it says Slideshow: Columbus Arival and then about half way down the page click on Viewers Images.
Enjoy!

Welcome home, warriors.
Welcome Home Marines!
Semper Fi!
Yup I've bought more beer for strangers lately. It's a good thing.
Who could watch that without crying tears of pride? That was the most heartwarming set of pictures I've seen in some time. Makes me feel proud of you Columbus citizens - you done good by your troops. That was a fantastic reception.
I would like to see that as well. I'm outside of Philly, not a big military city but there should be a way of communicating when soldiers are arriving home in this area so that 'welcome home' contingents could be available to greet them and welcome them home in a manner befitting theri honor. I'll check with the Philly USI, there must be something we can do.
