From Staff Reports
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said. The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department.
The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State.
After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.

Your recent title change is quite a bit more dramatic than it needs to be. Maybe you could take out the "breaking on Fox" and put back the "1 dead".
You are going to give some poor freeper a heart attack if you don't change it.

Perhaps they weren't sure WHICH stadium? I don't know. Just speculating (thinking out loud). Take it with a grain of salt.

An EMP would have be alot more interesting, and there are folks who worry about those. Let's just say if I post too much, I might get analysed by folks in the EU, Far East, and other parts of the world. Some of these folks might even be in Libya, Iran, Syria, and other countries that are soooo friendly to the US... WHAT are y'all talking about? "beta particles" "emp"?

There are many reasons to downplay an actual suicide bombing here. Until the terrorists up the ante and commit more, and it becomes obvious and can no longer be downplayed.

My son's fraternity brother saw pieces of flesh tossed around and it came across the news that the person couldn't be immediately identified as to whether it was a man or woman because they were blown to bits. He actually felt the heat from the bomb blast and was thrown back. Then he took off running along with several others toward Elm to get as far away as he could.
All I know is what I heard and was told. A girl in the sorority next door was near also and said the same thing. They were being interviewed as my daughter and I left the fraternity to get out of the area.

Your son was at a TCU game in Ft. Worth and his phone didn't work. I was at a Texas Tech game in Lubbock, and my phone didn't work......ALL DURING THE SAME TIME. I've NEVER had trouble getting my cell phone to work during a football game.

Funny you should ask that, in more ways than one. Nope, only person to ever live in Bartlesville who did not also live in Borger at some time in their lives, lol!
(However, best friend here in Houston DID live in Borger and DIDN'T come from a Phillips family--explain THAT one!)
Family was Phillips, not I--except indirectly. Thanks for the compliment, though! I *will* accept it.

Anyone have any news links with the latest updated info?
Specifically, one that states suicide bomber?

PS , I didnt know I was limited because I've been here only a month ( been reading here for a year or so before I joined the chat discussions by the way )I'm not doubting what MOM says here.I just dont see a reason YET to call this a failed terrorist attack .
To: Biblebelter
This happened right before halftime when a lot of people normally leave the stadium. Today I heard it was locked down after the explosion -- didn't know that until after we left the stadium.
Never thought of that until you mentioned it. He was within yards of the stadium since it happened at Cross.

IF this was a terrorist attack, it will be squelched by the MSM at the 'request' of the gov't to keep a tanking economy afloat as long as possible.
Remember the message after 9/11/01? You people continue to shop and spend money (tax revenue), we'll handle the terrorists.
At this point in time, I cannot argue with you. As you correctly point out, we simply don't have enough FACTS. Problem is, the facts we both need to continue this conversation will be withheld.
When was the last time you've heard of a college kid committing suicide by bomb? What about the eyewitness reports of a LARGE explosion, not a pipe bomb type firecracker?
hoboken, I hope and pray you are right and I am wrong because if I'm right things are going to get real bad real fast.
Hope you would at least prepare for an emergency. Check my about page for some hints.
Gotta get some sleep now. Stay safe my FRiend.
