This flap about Bennett remindes me of a conversation I had last night with a liberal. They will not be happy until anyone with conservative values (especially conservative Christian values) is removed from any position of influence. The ideas of personal accountability and expecting that of others just freaks them out.

One of the statements in that discussion was that poverty was a cause of crime. I want to discuss Cause and Effect.

The whole notion of 'cause and effect' in human society is essentially meaningless, no more than a stolen metaphor, what philosophers might deem a 'category error'.

However, the so-called 'social sciences' require such a foundation, however substanceless it may be, to legitimize their human-engineering enterprise.

You are correct to dismiss it.

COLMES: And I plaid what you said and the whole context of what you said. Frankly, I was just shocked by it. I don't believe you're a racist. I don't think that you believe those things. I was just shocked by what I heard and I -- basically there was a lot of callers calling up and commenting on it after I played your comments. And a lot of other people were shocked that you would have -- in the context you said it, say the things you said.

Alan Colmes is an oppotunistic pissin' an' moanin' hateful liberal just lurking to report something said by the hated Bush supporters that if taken out of context would be perfect for cutting Conservatives off at the knees and acting like he was so "surprised" that a responsible person like Bill Bennet could mean such a thing.

Alan Colmes is a puking and puling liberal and is completely without credibility in most of his musings!

I generally mute his responses to the truth since most of the time they are just the same "old worn out Democrat talking points".

I think many in FR know the "context" of a discussion matters. Whereas libs, and their mouthpiece the MSM, operate in a vacuum where context would expose their lies...so, it doesnt matter to them. IMHO.

Are you saying that large scale social conditions have no root causes? I don't understand how you can dismiss underlying conditions (Causes) for the current state of affairs (the effect),regardless of good or bad.

If there is no cause and effect, then why should I send my kids to school? A better education will not help them live better lives?

The high crime rates among blacks and some other minorities has nothing to do with their skin pigmentation. Bill Bennett never implied that. It has to do with their predominant choice of cultures to which many subscribe. The "urban" or "hip-hop" or whatever you want to call it culture is destructive, leads to a disdain for laws and authority, and is a significant factor contributing to the crime rates of an entire demographic of people.

The simple fact is that Liberals are erradicating themselves with abortions of convenience through the fourth trimester. They are aborting themselves out of the voting population. They will be an ever smaller percentage of voters.
