Well, but Connecticut is solidly Democratic, with two Democrat Senators, neither in any political danger at all (Dodd was just re-elected), and they both voted for Roberts.

They can see the writing on the wall, I hope they are still voted out of office, because they will turn back into RATS after the votes.

I am shocked that Cantwell (WA-D) voted nay.

Your other senator Patty Murray, the one who wears those disgusting tennis shoes, voted yea.

Yeah, I was pretty surprised by Florida, too. (Although I disagree with you on Martinez being a RINO).

I think we all could have guessed how the two nitwits from CA would vote. And, like Hollywood, they don't listen to us.

We survive in a state whose senators are two lunatics: Schumer and Clinton.

Need I say more?

I don't understand why conservatives are "celebrating" at all. Roberts is an unknown. We've never had success with such a candidate to SCOTUS. As they move and "grow" on the court, they always move LEFT. Always. Except Souter who started off in kookland.

Since Thomas' hi-tech lynching, when the Dems SUPPORT a candidate to SCOTUS like this it can only mean two things: they're keeping their powder dry for the next candidate *OR* they sense a fellow traveler in the nominee. Or BOTH.

The democrats (move on) were running ads against Bayh to keep him in line. Notice he did NOT cast his vote when his name was initially called....Bayh is between a rock and a hard place....Know at least three democrats that call his office when it was announced he was voting "NO". He better be his party's nominee for something higher up, He's losing his base here in this predominately "D" county.

Hey, this is nothing. I can tell you how both of my (CA) Senators will vote on the next candidate before Bush even picks.
