Over the Weekend President George W Bush concluded a 3 day visit to various Command Centres relating to Hurricane Katrina and Rita returning to the White House Sunday afternoon.

Vice President Dick Cheney was admitted to the hospital for the elective surgery on his knees. It was announced after doing both knees (originally only one was to be done but surgery went so smoothly it was decided to do the other) that he might be in hopital for up to 48 hours, in fact he was only in for 27 hours and walked without any assistance to his limo early Sunday morning.

Today President Bush attended briefings with Interior Secretary Gale Norton and Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman and also delivers a Statement at the Department of Energy in Washington

Today it was expected that the Vice President would continue his recovery from his Saturday's surgery by working from home.

Today Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice had private meetings at the State Department with East Timor Prime Minister Mari Bin Amude Alkatiri, Malaysia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Syed Hamid bin Syed Jaafar Albar and Brazil's Minister of Foreign Affairs Celso Amorim

BTW..... I often wonder if Cindy Sheehan isn't on Karl Rove's payroll!!!!

Because I cannot think of a more harmful voice for the opposition that this intellectually challenged blow-hard has been for the Democrats. Cindy Sheehan has openly declared her backing of our enemies and she has become the face of the Democrat Party. Come next election, we will see NOT ONE SINGLE elected Democrat associating with Cindy Sheehan, and all those who have, will be rejected by their constituents.

Back to Rove...... If Cindy Sheehan isn't on his payroll.... SHE SHOULD BE, cause she is worse than Michael Moore could ever be for their cause :-)

Why has Maher ever had ANY television shows?

He is liberal with a smart a** mouth.
That is all it takes.

Pedialite is a kind of disgusting bottled water that's usually given to babies and small children who have diahrea to replenish the water in their system and keep them from getting dehydrated. We still have a bottle in our refrigerator (I don't know why) that we got for our old dog.

We like him 'cuz he's mean. He says to liberal callers what we would all like to say, but can't because:

we don't want to get fired.

we don't want to alienate ALL our friends and family.

NO WAY, Ann is smart enough to know that she is not qualified for such a position. She might be a lawyer, but she is no candidate for being a federal judge. Ann has been a Political Pundit longer than she has been a lawyer

her qualifications maybe aren't the issue(to her).. there was a LOT of hype regarding her.. and she prolly didn't even get a call /interview etc.. just a thought. I agree, she is not a great candidate for position despite fact she was a SCOTUS clerk etc. She is well suited for what she is doing now and I haven't followed her enough to know about what was posted here tonight. disappointing. I do like her spunk.

Get to feeling better Mr. Mike

I've enjoyed reading Ann's books like no other. Her style of writing is just what it takes to keep me up all night reading her books. But her latest articles have me puzzled

I have become cynical in my old age. Some time in the next 3 years Roberts is probably going to make a decision that some of us don't like. As a strict constructionist, he might (note I did not say will) come down on something which cultural conservatives hold dear, something like the Ten Commandments case or certain aspects of abortion.

I believe Ann is setting herself up to be in the "I told you so" position. She is being very opportunistic and disingenuous.

All that I ask for is that a judge be impartial and rule based on the Constitution, not on international law, feelings, or political aims. So I fully expect at some point I will have a disagreement with Roberts on a case now and then. The fact is, if we go back through all of Thomas and Scalia's decisions, I will bet we find something we don't like in some of their legal writings.

The argument that Reagan would have gone for a known conservative is simply silly; Reagan gave us Sandra Day O'Connor.

I don't get Bill Maher, either. He must have relatives in the business that we don't know about.

I never could figure how Nicholas Cage got handed so many leading roles early in his career, until I found out that he is Francis Ford Coppola's nephew.

Bingo, I believe that everyone of those SCOTUS's changed just a bit once they were sworn in. IMHO the most important factor is CHARACTER...... I look for a candidate who never, and I mean NEVER, mentions his personal beliefs and STRICTLY refers to the Constitution and how our Founders would have interpreted it.... PERIOD
