NO WAY, Ann is smart enough to know that she is not qualified for such a position. She might be a lawyer, but she is no candidate for being a federal judge. Ann has been a Political Pundit longer than she has been a lawyer

her qualifications maybe aren't the issue(to her).. there was a LOT of hype regarding her.. and she prolly didn't even get a call /interview etc.. just a thought. I agree, she is not a great candidate for position despite fact she was a SCOTUS clerk etc. She is well suited for what she is doing now and I haven't followed her enough to know about what was posted here tonight. disappointing. I do like her spunk.

Get to feeling better Mr. Mike

I have become cynical in my old age. Some time in the next 3 years Roberts is probably going to make a decision that some of us don't like. As a strict constructionist, he might (note I did not say will) come down on something which cultural conservatives hold dear, something like the Ten Commandments case or certain aspects of abortion.

I believe Ann is setting herself up to be in the "I told you so" position. She is being very opportunistic and disingenuous.

All that I ask for is that a judge be impartial and rule based on the Constitution, not on international law, feelings, or political aims. So I fully expect at some point I will have a disagreement with Roberts on a case now and then. The fact is, if we go back through all of Thomas and Scalia's decisions, I will bet we find something we don't like in some of their legal writings.

The argument that Reagan would have gone for a known conservative is simply silly; Reagan gave us Sandra Day O'Connor.
