Book Claims Sex Abuse Not Harmful
by Steve Jordahl
Once again an attempt is made to promote the shocking theory that pedophilia is good.
An old heresy is surfacing again. Sexual contact between adults and children is normal, even beneficial to children and can serve as a useful tool in the mentoring process. In a new book about the role of homosexuality in ancient Greece and Rome, Temple University Professor Bruce Rind claims sex between adults and children can be beneficial. Therapist Joe Nicolosi has seen the "benefits" in dozens of victims.
"It lowers self-esteem, it lowers trust, it creates profound self-doubts about oneself, it creates future difficulties in terms of intimacy and trust."
The assertion that homosexuality and child sexual abuse were accepted norms of ancient cultures has no basis in fact.
"Absolutely not. That is a mythology promoted by gay activists to justify and to find legitimacy in their perversion."
But the fact that the view is published at all troubles Dr. Warren Throckmorton of Pennsylvania's Grove City College.
"With the publication of this book I am concerned that the effort here is to make this view mainstream."
Nicolosi claims homosexuality is at the root of most abuse of young boys, the focus of a great deal of the book, and points to the sex scandal in the Catholic Church as an example. Rind was published by the American Psychological Association several years ago, but public outcry was so severe the APA repudiated the paper. He did not return repeated calls for comment.

Unlikely that Dr David Adamany will be of much help. For one, he generally does not see such matters as being in the purview of a university president.
Also, Adamany is gay himself. While it is possible that Adamany is past the age at which he finds youth beguiling, there were very credible rumours that years ago in his previous post at Wayne State(Detroit) he was apprehended or at the least accosted by police late one night in Grosse Pointe in the company of a 14-year old boy.
Overall though, Adamany is an outstanding college president. His financial management skills are without peer. In my experience he also has an elegant taste in suits.
God must've given him to me because I sure never would've found him on my own....;)
[seriously...the last place I'd have been caught back then was anywhere near a biker bar!]...LOL!
I wouldn't let my kid see either.
Is it not strange that an 18 year old young man can face prison time for dating a 16 yr old girl who is probably intellectually equivalent at that age?
I've never heard of a single case where an 18 year old went to jail just for dating a 16 year old. Got an example of where that occurred?
Is sex not part of human nature
Yes.
and many of you had sexual experiences out of the normalcy of matrimony and you survived and lead a a healthy life without government intervention?
Depends on how loosely you define 'healthy'.
Is it not strange that in one state you can marry a 15 yr old , but in another face up to 90 years in jail?
You don't believe in states' rights? Besides, there are you talking about MARRIAGE, which is an insitution whereby two people agree to spend their life together. That has nothing to do with pedophilia, buddy.
Many of you need to look into your own minds and realize what trips your sexual libido and decide if someone knew about that , how you would be looked at in american society.
Maybe you need to figure out the difference between temptation and acting on same.
"(Like don't get me started on Little Miss Pageants!!!!)"
Those things are the most bizarre and horrible spectacles I've ever seen.
Tiny little girls tarted up like Playboy centerfolds and Vegas showgirls.
I guess I just don't "get it".
I saw you new toy on your profile page. Here is ours after we finished redoing it. He laid it down 2 weeks after this photo was taken and now we have to repaint it and get new bars.
http://www.ultimaproducts.com/seven.htm This is the new motor we just put on it.
Isn't virtually every pedophile also a victim of child abuse?
Which is altogether different than saying and not to suggest that all child abuse victims become pedophiles - this is clearly not the case.
Speechless. I'm very sorry what what you've had to deal with. The number of people victimized in this way is radically bigger than is reported. You're not alone.
127 inches?!?
OMG!
The biggest hubby ever put in was an S&S 113 incher and -that- thing would go airborne....LOL!
He eventually triked it out and even then, it would raise the front end off the ground if you over-rolled the throttle....:))
The Sporty is gonna be triked out too because my balance really sucks.
I have a website set up for running progress reports.
When it gets started, I'll send you the link.
[you'll get to see me snarling and cursing as I airbrush "real flames" and who knows what other weird artwork on it]....LOL!
That is one truly horrifying story.
It will fly.
He had ghost flames painted on it. And now it has to be redone. Oh well it could have been worse,
Yup, it could have.
I'm glad he's okay....:)
[ghost flames? whew...there's a big coupl'a bucks down the drain]....:-\
That is probably the best description of what happens. It isn't the physical aspects, it's the internal mind games, the loss of trust and safety etc that destroy a child. I mean, the world is suddenly full of monsters and no one is to be trusted.
If that's not killing a kid, it's the next best thing.
And they try to convince us they're "just like everybody else and only want their rights"?
Uh huh.
I'm buyin' that.
Not.
Thank God you were not physically harmed.
You and I could go on for days about this I believe.
But yeah, the kid is destroyed forever. Instead of seeing home, Mom, Dad, family as safety and sanctuary....everything becomes a potential source of pain, anxiety or fear.
It is bizarre. And yeah, I can count on 3 fingers the people in my life I trust, or have ever trusted.
Doesn't sound stupid to me, or any other "forever 10 year old" grown person whom has experienced what you have. It's rough some times, but I decided about 13 years ago that I wasn't going to be his victim anymore. That he has no power over me. But it's not always so easy. Sometimes it just haunts me and despite everything I've told myself (I've forgiven my abuser, It's all over, I'm not his victim anymore etc) it still haunts me and I HATE HIM for it. It started for me when I was really little (as far back as I can remember...), and finally ended when I told my mom at 14. Of course no charges were ever brought. But he has little or no relationship with my daughter. And it will stay that way.
