"Dandelion wine? That exists?"
It exists in two forms; a book by
Ray Bradbury, and this
concoction...
Yields: About 1 gallon
Ingredients:
1 gallon dandelion blossoms
1 gallon hot water
Juice of 1 lemon
3 oranges, peeled and sliced
4 lbs of sugar
1 cake of yeast
Combine water and blossoms in a crock. Let stand for 24 hours, then strain.
Then add the rest of the ingredients. Let the mixture set for 3 weeks, then bottle.
Age the bottles for at least 2 months.
Good Night!

Not the book.
A poem in the book. I think. Or maybe it was by someone else. It is driving me nuts. Worse then any ear worm.

"It is driving me nuts." Well, I found a poem for you, but I suspect it is not the one you seek.

You suspect right.
I am going to have dig up my copy of the book and see if it is in there. I think that I read it in a Reader's Digest.
Thank you for your help my friend. Even as half remembered bits of verse drive me slowly mad I shall think of you with gratitude.

And remember the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence. I've crossed enough fences that I know sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. At this point I don't jump ship lightly, which is why I've remained where I am even though things went downhill 5 years ago.

"Is that Kirk Unit pouring to Scott Unit?" Your dialog came from the first Star Trek movie. V'Ger referred to humans as units.
The picture is of Scott pouring for an alien in human form. The name Jared comes to mind, but is likely incorrect.
Scott eventually succeeds in his mission, to drink the alien under the table, but collapses in a stupor at the door. I always thought it was the oxygen that did it.
