Breaking: Jet Blue emergency landing, Long Beach, CA (UPDATE: Plane Landed Safely)
KABC Channel 7, live broadcast
Posted on 09/21/2005 4:21:43 PM PDT by kingu
A Jet Blue aircraft just did a low altitude flyby of Long Beach airport after reporting some concern with their forward gear. The television helicopter caught an image of it - the gear is turned sideways and tilted.
Aircraft is heading out towards the ocean to drop fuel, will turn around, and attempt a 'soft field' landing, keeping the nose up as long as possible.

After watching this, I think I need to run down to the local Staples or Office Max, and re-do some legal paperwork.
Get the "ducks in a row" doncha know?
Just a little reminder to myself. Watching this gave me that "feeling" again, I hope to never go through again.
Thank God, these people are okay. Many of His blessings I hope are bestowed onto the flight crew and pilots.

I just heard someone on board did "Blackberry" someone and told them the airline had cut the TV off about 5:30 LA time.

No, we can't. But don't need large useless graphics >50 KB on breaking news threads. Not all of us have DSL, T1 or cable modems. Nautinurse's threads do very well at less than 50 KB and most posters here know that also.

- Bush didn't fund the FAA enough...it took too long to clear the airspace.
_ Bush could've funded more maintenance training....this incident would not have happened.
-Bush did not enforce stricter airplane construction regulations
-Bush did not provide LA with enough homeland defense money....first responders were poorly equipped and slow
Bush is a racist and wanted to kill all Mexicans in Southern California
Now no one needs to watch CNN tomorrow.

Now, I'm wondering just HOW this happened.Has Hillary asked for a Senate investigation yet?
(Kidding! Nice to hear some good news for a change. Great landing, thank God!)
