Breaking: Jet Blue emergency landing, Long Beach, CA (UPDATE: Plane Landed Safely)
KABC Channel 7, live broadcast
Posted on 09/21/2005 4:21:43 PM PDT by kingu
A Jet Blue aircraft just did a low altitude flyby of Long Beach airport after reporting some concern with their forward gear. The television helicopter caught an image of it - the gear is turned sideways and tilted.
Aircraft is heading out towards the ocean to drop fuel, will turn around, and attempt a 'soft field' landing, keeping the nose up as long as possible.

Everyone in our office just let out a loud cheer...it was so wild watching that right in front of our windows as we parallel 25-L runway.
Absolutely crazy. Prayers answered.

I hope there are some interviews with passengers. (Even though I can imagine what they would all have to say.)

I will always be in absolute awe of the power of God, and prayer, and the uncanny ability of the American people. It is stories like this one that show that we are a people who are continued to be blessed by a loving God. His mercy and goodness are infinite!

Calypso Louie believes the govt blew up the New Orleans levee. The proof is a 25 foot crater in a certain location & it was done to drown blacks. I saw one guy on TV with a New Orleans genocide T-shirt on.
I'm still stunned.
Thank God for skilled pilots.....would love to hear the stories in the cabin.

Heck of a lot more people there at risk than were on this plane.

I still will never fly JetBlue. Either they buy crappy French planes or their maintenance guys are drunk. I only fly JetBlue, great airline.
