Category 3 Hurricane Rita became the fifth major hurricane of the 2005 season during the night. Hurricane Rita threaded the needle through the Florida Straits and moved into the Gulf of Mexico. Storm damage in the Florida Keys and South Florida Peninsula was light, with scattered power outages, scattered tornados, and mild to moderate flooding.
Mandatory evacuations are in effect for Galveston County TX and New Orleans. Additional evacuation orders in the Greater Houston Metropolitan Area are anticipated throughout the day.
Crude oil prices reacted as oil producers shut down and evacuated workers from platforms in the Gulf of Mexico.

I was just trying to find a small size version of the pic. Glad you posted it. It is perfect.

Try this....
Channel 2 - Houston is already Live Streaming.....
Yes, Ft. Smith, Ark. Reportedly, some didn't want to leave. The Astrodome wasn't considered safe if it took a direct hit.
Guess they won't be singing "99 bottles of beer on the wall....." (I have been a school bus driver and am immune to the song.)
And I suppose there's NO air conditioning either. The inhumanity of it all!!!!
I hope that's in reply to the message. I don't want to fight. I apologize in advance.
Astrodome was already empty, days before Rita appeared on the horizon.
Look what I found:

The Astrodome is empty.
I think they are all running on adrenline right now. These storms are so large, cover such a wide area that all resources are being stretched to their limits.
I can vouch for the stories. Gas is running out in a lot of gas stations. I went to 2 stations and no gas. I waited for water for 2 hours in Wal Mart and was one of the lucky ones. A lot of people were in line but did not get any water. Talked to a lady in line and she said she tried to get a room somewhere in Texas and the closest place she could get was Lubbock (570 miles away).
Traffic is plain nuts. I was going to ride this one out (I am in NW Houston) but I am thinking about getting out of here if it turns into a Cat 5 and goes north.
It is 100 degrees here in Houston right now. I am not exagerating. It has been hotter than it usually has in the past 4 weeks. The Gulf must be like gasoline right now for Rita.
I was here in '84 for Alicia and the thing that was the worst was having no power for 4 days in this kind of heat and humidity.
Posting It's Bush's fault doesn't seem like a very legitimate thing to complain about. Maybe Rove put Strategerist up to it.
I believe it is sarcasm. No one really believes that this is Bush's "fault", yet all Dems seem to like to blame him for everything, even natural disasters.
Here's a better one:

825,000 acres
The girl on TWC just said the storm probably goinng to come in on the Texas Coast:')
Oh he knows it's sarcasm, it just ceased being witty/funny after the first one thousand times or so
