A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Even though it probably still feels like summer, fall is upon us - for tomorrow is the first day of Autumn. September 22nd marks the 2005 autumnal equinox, when night and day are of equal length.

Ready or not, the sun will be setting earlier and the days will become shorter. Sadly for some of us and happily for others, it's time to say goodbye to summer. Crisp mornings, autumn leaves, and frosty pumpkins are right around the corner.

For man, autumn is a time of harvest, of gathering together.
For nature, it is a time of sowing, of scattering abroad.

((((((Wolfie)))))) I'm getting a little tired and need to rest a bit. Later.

I knew it.....you couldn't stay away from gabbing at the Finest, and now you've worn yourself out. : (

Rest easy, pleasant dreams. I know they'll be pleasant, wolfie will be in them. : )

Well since you've got my name on a leaf guess I'd better say somethin. :)

Sorry, sistah, but I just couldn't NOT put your name on a leaf!

And so, does this mean that if we keep adding your name to our graphics, you will have to keep coming and sayin' sumpthin'? ;-)

*guru-ettes*....LOL!!!
Well, don't be holding your breath for this guru-ette to come up with an answer. This color thing is a mystery to me. All I know is, my machine is calibrated correctly (at least, that is what the real computer *guru*, JK, tells me. LOL).

If JK says it's correct, it's correct! He is the 'true' guru. : )

But you and Billie ain't bad. : )

What a lovely, lovely presentation. Thank You Lori.

Awww......thanks, Dolly.

Fall is beautiful but for me it is a downer. Cooler weather, shorter days, and WHAT FOLLOWS I DONT LIKE.

That is EXACTLY the way I feel about it. I dread winter with a passion. Each year it gets colder and damper and LONGER. And each beautiful autumn day that passes brings us closer to my least favorite season. :-(

My old bones need sunshine and warmth and, in this part of CA, many weeks can go by with neither. January and February, when the Tule fog settles in this valley, it is so depressing to the spirit. It isn't like me to not look on the bright side of everything. Problem is, there is nothing bright about the winter in the Central Valley.

Okay, now that I have gotten that out of my system, I promise not to say another word about it. :-)

Well most of you know that when my Aunt Dolly sets out to do something...she does it..I'm so proud of her facilitating both of these much needed groups in our Church.

Oh yes, that we DO know! And she has more energy than anyone I know. Dolly can sure run circles around me. LOL! She must have more hours in her days than I do, that's all that I can figure. ;-)

Bless your sweet heart. :-)

I saw dutchess asking for photos of your new pup. I really do think it is time that you introduced your Mims to the Finest. We want to meet her! (Besides, you are making me feel guilty about posting so much Chachi "stuff".)

Geesh...just realized that I didn't comment on what a beautiful lovely georgous thread you've posted today. The colors are stunning. And LOVE the pledge.

Thanks, sistah.

No that is not DD's grandson, but, with the Golden in the photo and the flag, it sure could be! :-)

Have a good day (even though it's a work day)!

Good morning, MB - Fall - ok, Autumn - is one of my two favorite seasons (the other being spring). I love crisp mornings and evenings - not too hot, not too cold. (guess that sounds like Baby Bear!)

Somehow I don't think that *tomorrow* - the official day of Autumn - is going to change this hot weather we're still having though! Maybe soon. Your opening is a beautiful reminder that the colors will soon be changing. I'm ready!

We're about 60 miles inland from the Gulf Coast. If this thing comes in headed north around Galveston and turns NE, we're in trouble with wind.

Let's hope she stays well away from you. Actually, let's hope she just winds herself down and stays well away from everyone. Doesn't sound like that is going to happen though.
