A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

ood morning, FRiends. I have often wished I had a *generic* table to post on days when I'm short of time, or low on creativity, and can't think of a theme or can't find the right graphics when I *have* a theme. So, here it is - I made one - and you will probably see it again 'cause it just says WELCOME!
I'm calling it my "Ain't Got No Theme" or "Ain't Got No Graphics" table. When you see it, you will know it's one or the other - or BOTH! Do hope you'll stop in, have a cup of coffee, share your thoughts, pick a theme, post a picture, offer a suggestion for a future theme, offer to WRITE a future thread, or just wave as you drive by. :)
HOWEVER...... the ever resourceful Miss Maggie Malone, aka LadyX, not long ago suggested a theme for *whenever* it might come in handy, and I'm taking advantage of it today. (See? A theme!) Ain't got no graphics, though. (OK, maybe one.) Ready to play?
*I*, of course, have never had any many. : )

LadyX, I most respectfully disagree. I realize that in a hurricane of this scope, one has to have low expectations of what FEMA can do. But they didn't do even that.
The Coast Guard did. They were great and went right in and did the saves.
FEMA didn't even activate their civilian volunteer network -- of which I too am a member -- in a timely fashion. I know people who work at FEMA who are just disgusted by the incompetent political hacks in management.
Sorry, but FEMA screwed up big time.

I just finished reading both your post and the link you provided, and it makes me so angry that this kind of information does not get the kind of reporting by the so-called news media that all the negative, blame-Bush-for-everything we read and see on endless *News* (yeah, right) sites.
WHY does it seem to be a requirement of MSM that one must be so pro-liberals/dems that they can't report the news in a fair and balanced manner. I think of all the minds they shape with their slanted reporting simply because those minds don't know any better.
Thank God for the internet, FR, and numerous conservative blogs, not everyone believes a word the MSM says.

oh billie that is adorable! love it. Not sure where Tweety is right not.. but I am flying on the ceiling (with DSL & NEW COMPUTER)....Thanks, Dolly - and I'm so happy for you with your new 'puter AND DSL!!
I have to confess, I wish I'd bought mine much sooner - kept balking because I heard too many complaints about XP, but I'm thinking this is going to be a fabulous new toy! (and I still have modem, but man it's quicker with a 'smokin' machine!)

LOL! They don't call you *Gabby* for nothing! :) ROFL!!!!!!!!!!
My physical therapist keeps calling me Danielle....and even she has no clue as to why...I've been called worse and so I answer to it :)
OH, and the orthopod only greets me in French...with a flawless accent, which is comical as his English is without a doubt very much Scottish.
But good news - he did give me the OK this morning that I can drive again!!!! Now if I could get hubby to get my car running :)

BTW.. that is an AWESOME table.. the grey looks like fabric.. and the soft heading is great. Grey? Uh-oh, now I'm concerned. Which part looks grey to you, because on both my monitors, the colors are a soft brown for the ribbed border and the main table, and the gradient is a sort of steel blue.
Can someone else tell me the colors they are seeing in the opening post? (I've been through this before! Seeing colors that only I could see. LOL!)

I hope to get back with some of my embarrassing moments (and there have been a LOT)... Like napping/ sunbathing nude (this summer) in private part of yard & some folks came traipsing up out of the national park ... which is in my back yard... and they were lost. I'll say! NO ONE HAS EVER COME UP THERE... it is 200 feet and about a 90 degree angle!YIKES!!!!!

That may happen again soon as soon as we make national attention for voter fraud or the commisioner's of the board of elections get either thrown in jail or fired.
What a joke this primary election is. :(
I just hate that. After all you had to go through just to get on the ballot, and all your hard work fighting every step of the way, for a result like this.

No, it is a soft coffee brown and the blue text is what I would call "Periwinkle". Which is lovely together with the brown, BTW. :-)
Dolly, did you get a new monitor with your computer? If so, I think your monitor needs to be calibrated a bit. I had to work with mine a long time before I got the colors right. I don't know how to tell to do it exactly, but it should explain it in the manual that came with your monitor.

Rus: I see what you see Billie.
Gabz: I see blue and brown.Thank you both. Dolly, you probably should (might need to) calibrate your new monitor. Curious, though, which one looks grey.
